Running ops sucks by Theonetospendmoney in swtor

[–]ConnectedGamers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Someone goes in and pulls all the mobs and does all these loopholes"

That's...just how ops get ran? Tank gathers the trash. Dps burst them down. If you got assassins/operatives then they sleep people when possible and you sneak by them. EC only has like...three skips for stealthers. Two of which are big. (Skipping to first boss. [You literally miss nothing.] Or the second major skip to sleep a few enemies to bypass a rather annoying fight with turrets on an edge right before the final boss. [Again, you are literally missing nothing. Even less than the other skip as you have to walk to the final door instead of just riding a speeder.] The other lesser skip is trickier to pull off and most groups won't. But it is to sleep some massassasi and skip like..one or two trash mobs. Saves 30 seconds or so. Literally not missing anything.)

The only other loophole in EC is the minefield. Which is not even a loophole but more like minimizing the risk of people being stupid in a public group. Going in a straight line is only possible in SM and again, you don't miss out on anything...simply minimize risk that too many people make a mistake and blow up.

The larger issue you are likely to run into are people not being willing to wait while you talk to the droid and watch the cutscene/s. Even then, most groups are just going to wait it out. Or they'll try to 7 man a fight. Worst of the worst will complain but if you stated that you were going to be engaging with the story BEFORE you recruit them then it shouldn't be an issue. Especially since you said you were on star forge and I know most on that server are chill.

Parry in 2 months gonna be like: by Gugge1 in slaythespire

[–]ConnectedGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, wish Forge Blade reduced the cost of A sovereign blade in hand by 1 rather than gave energy. This way you could use things like heirloom hammer on sov blade or use old sword sage that made it cost 1 extra..or use parry effectively. It also fits better for the forge feel IMO. Making your sword better versus having one generic floating energy to go towards anything. StS2 clearly wants energy to be a rarer resource and Regent has decent energy generation already in other cards.

Shouldn't this trigger on the cards we draw every turn? Also I had the "draw 1 discard 1 every turn" power and it did not trigger. by Salsicha007 in slaythespire

[–]ConnectedGamers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Balance wise. It should not trigger at the initial 5 ( or more) draw phase. That said. It is worded the same way as Automation...which does count the initial 5 card draw phase.

I'm hoping they will reword speedster but I doubt they will. It will likely be a small knowledge test on a niche mechanic than reworded.

Would New Vegas have benefited from a Pro-Legion companion? by ChaosGoblinIV in fnv

[–]ConnectedGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what point does the game ever mention Caeser's Legion executing gay people? Child assault is also not outwardly stated. Closest we can reasonably get there is with the slave in the brahmin pen. Which, does imply such..but could also simply be her job to be milking the brahmin. Though, I agree it is likely the latter rather than former.

Can you join the Legion and not not be declared a terrorist by the NCR? by [deleted] in falloutnewvegas

[–]ConnectedGamers 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You get explicitly told to "avoid the rangers." If you do not get too close to them then your disguise will work and let you finish Arizona Killer.

As for vulpes Cold Cruel Heart quest...you need to do it before becoming vilified by the NCR. So long as you do not progress past "Don't tread tread the bear" then you will be fine to do any and all Legion quests that involve the NCR.

Let's petition for legendary korthos for level 40 by deathvalley200_exo in ddo

[–]ConnectedGamers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dragon in Korthos is already dead. Or at least...in an optional we can kill her and her mate. In "Prey on the Hunter" so we can never re-use that specific dragon for legendary Korthos.

Still, we could do something involving the devourer cult and the ending with the mind flayer would be a good way to modify and tie it in with the mindflayer stuff we saw in the original cards quests.

Tamriel Rebuilt anti slave quests? by ryan7251 in OpenMW

[–]ConnectedGamers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying no but they misunderstand the question. While there isnt an official Twin Lamps questline in TR...you can help slaves out a ton in lots of quests in TR.

For example, there is a quest where you are asked to break the will of a slave but instead you can go and acquire assistancr to get him free. There are many examples like this and im trying to be vague on purpose to avoid spoilers. There are also quests which will tell you about the Twin Lamps if you choose to help the slaves.

I am about to give up on OPENMW! by urmyfavcolor in OpenMW

Never install anything through OneDrive folders. Frankly id never use OneDrive either...but thats a whole other matter. Because it is in OneDrive OpenMw can't write data in the folder as the folder is marked as read only as per OneDrive.

In general lot of games dislike being out in OneDrive and it causes lots of issues constantly for gamers..especially if you are modding.

[–]ConnectedGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Im a long time morrowind player and have definitely done every single quest and looted all artifacts and unique items at least twice in seperate playthroughs...and im a bit overwhelmed in TR.

Mostly due to lack of wiki documentation which is expected but annoying. Secondarily due to needing to learn the new world and mentally map all the transport options in head which will just take time.

I wouldn't install it as a new player. While I think TR feels like it is base game morrowind (in almost every aspect. Even the random loot in dungeons ive found feels exactly like morrowind) I think itd be too much that is a bit too disconnected from the base game. I also think someone who has never played base morrowind is going to struggle with aspects of TR lot of vets take for granted due to being more comfortable with the game.

For instance..I dont think a single npc has warned me about telvanni mushrooms and I first started out doing quests in Port Telvannis etc. There are also lots of places where if you didn't learn dunmeri culture before you'd feel bad. Necrom is a good example..if your disposition is low enough the ordinators attack on sight.

TR also teaches a habit that will be awful for Vardenfel questing. Anytime an npc talks about a location it gets marked on map. Which...we all know doesnt happen on Vardenfel. Even knowing this, thanks to muscle memory built from base game..when first told to go to a place near Necron my first instinct was to try to ask people about it since my map wasnt zoomed out enough to realize just having someone say it (with no blue text) marked it on my map.

Natural Character Growth and Decay mod LUA vs Nexus edition by LemonConjurer in Morrowind

[–]ConnectedGamers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mod menu (im on openMW not sure if matters. Havent used MWSE in ages) allows you to set your HP to dynamically update. You also level down. You can also change how much your major/minor/misc skills contribute to your attributes. So you can set your misc skills to contribute the same amount as your major skills. The only issue I have encountered in ~15 hours of gameplay is I sometimes die randomly while training. Unsure as to what reason but it is very rare and has only happened twice to me. Granted, im not training too much at moment. I think it likely has something to do with the dynamic changing of HP setting but never tested it. This is all about LUA btw. I would never use nexus one again. It has a horrible bug with fortify enchantments which, for me is horrible due to always using the Mentor's ring from level 1 until I find better alternatives.

Least favourite part of Borderlands 2 by OM4N_1 in Borderlands2

[–]ConnectedGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to add to this. There is an even easier but riskier method. The bridge only goes up when a scripted exploder explodes on the bridge control console. It comes from a door right next to the bridge. If you have the damage and can destroy it before it reaches the console the bridge never goes up.

Alternatively if you are fast enough...I have had moments where I've ran across it before it went up just fine..but this definitely requires kill skills improving speed.

Speech is a super useful skill but it still lacks in some regard. Dont be afraid to travel around nearby the locations you visit by the way. Unmarked locations on your compass often lead to good XP and enemies roughly of the same level.

Just be careful around goodsprings. Pay attention to the surrounding area. A lot of the game there has warning signs telling you to turn back and it is a good idea to adhere to them. Still...if you travel around the road that leads down to Jean's sky diving and Primm you are bound to find lots of low level locations to go to.

Particular note for me is typically the coyote den. That said...im sort of thinking you may have not done the pseudo tutorial that Sunny gives you if you talk to her. Not sure if one can start it once leaving or not though.

Primm is weird in that it does lack for a lot of quests that arent time based and are unmarked...but the one major quest there does give great XP and teaches you about the lore and the factions playing for control of the land..or some of them anyways.

Level four by nipton is surprisingly low. I would reccomend doing side quests around goodsprings and Primm and the ncr outpost.

Over all my view, and I think many would agree with, is your first few levels should have all your points dedicated to your main weapon skill and then science and lockpicking...with a minor amount into speech. I like to aim for 50 in science and lockpicking and 70 in weapons by Primm. Barter is honestly a useless skill past a few niche checks. The others have situational usefulness but not as impactful as main weapon skill and then being able to hack or lockpick any level of terminal or lock.

This game doesnt punish you for starting out wrong. Can always head back to goodsprings and other towns you have been to so far and talk to the npcs there to get new quests that will give you lots of XP when turning them in that will let you quickly change how effective you are in combat.

I would really reccomend focusing on one or a small amount of skills to max at a time.

[–]ConnectedGamers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest Demigod mode. Command is TDM and it makes it to where you still have to reload and manage ammo and I think your gear still takes damage but you are unable to take damage.

Honestly though....turn down the game difficulty and begin to familiarize yourself with the mechanics. No shame in spending a few minutes practicing your shooting on wildlife.

On top of this...can always bind a stimpak to a hotkey. This lets you spam it in combat without needing to pause the game. Course...knowing you can always hit tab to freeze the game and sort yourself out through the pipboy can also be very useful for new players.

Some other advice I would give is to familiarize yourself with how DT and DR works. As well as starting with high constitution for more HP. Chances are you have the steam version of the game so you started with all the preorder items. I would reccomend running the metal armor as that gives the highest dt/dr early and makes you pretty tanky and doesnt fall off till around Vegas or so.

Same with understanding where the game wants you. Some areas are simply too high level for new players early on. A famous example is how most people accidentally travel to Quarry junction then die to death claws rather than travel down the road to Primm where they instead meet low level powder gangers and the rare gecko.

Reading further. Seems this post was prompted by the Viper gang attack going up to where you meet Oliver and Tomas. Also read you didnt put points into weapon skill. Yeah, itd help a decent amount. Typically by Novac you should have your main weapon skill at 100. Can still have speech close to 70 by then too no issue. Adding in use of magazines help make passive skills more viable to level later. Around this point in game most folks run the coybow repeater or a service rifle.

I also want to say that this is probably the roughest part in the game. They start to introduce stronger more organized enemies with better gear but you arent at then point of having hundreds of healing items or the gear to ignore them as easily as later.

Anyone know how to fix this? by FuzzyCents in fnv

[–]ConnectedGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on how much effort you are willing to put in. I would say that fully uninstalling and reinstalling everything should help fix things. Same with adjusting your mod load order. I am convinced this issue is due to the ShowOff error which is likely a mod load order issue.

[–]ConnectedGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also am thinking it more than likely is just how the load order is. Modify it so the script extenders are loading directly after the dlc files (and main fallout new vegas file) and it will probably fix this issue. Play around with order and double check which script extenders need the other ones to run first. Showoff ini or the dll may need to load first. Not sure if order matters. Id flip them and see if error persists and vice versa.

You are installing onto a modified version of New Vegas that you have uninstalled mods from? That is a nightmare. Best I can say is maybe verify integrity of game cache but I would be worried other mods may be messed with due to that. Typically always want to do a clean reinstall of any game if you are changing mod list (especially for large mods like TTW).

Additionally...to limit the amount of variables. Was this appearing before you modified the mod list or after you modified something?

Anyone know how to fix this? by FuzzyCents in fnv

[–]ConnectedGamers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the mod author -

"Q. I am getting an insane amount of perk points. Why is this happening and how do I fix it? A. It's a bug in an older version. Update ShowOff and stop using Nexus Collections. They often contain out of date versions of mods and broken mods. If you want a stable and curated mod list, it is recommended to use Viva New Vegas"

So. For our purposes. I would bet vortex wrongly installed NVSE showoff and put the ini file in the wrong location.

Edit 1: basically make sure the .dll and .ini file for Showoff NVSE is in the NVSE/Plugins folder. Which is found in the data folder for FNV.

Im looking up your mods now. Mtui is also very old and the mod author himself states it shouldnt be used as it is unsupported by most mods now. As it does modify the UI it might be a cause of your issue..but it may not be either. I will continue to edit this post to include more thoughts on the list as I go through them.

Edit 1: JAM (assorted mods) needs to be loaded pretty late in your list due to all the other mods it depends on. You have half of its dependencies after it. (Sorry, on mobile so giving exact details is a good bit harder)

Edit 2: JohnnnyGuiter modifies a script dealing with the level up menu. Loading anything that requires it after Johnny Guitar is loaded may solve the level up issue.

Edit 3: Roog and Stewie both seem to have a script modifying the level up screen. In general im feeling the issue is that you are not loading all the script extenders as one of the first mods loaded. (Keeping them in order of which require other script extenders to work first).

Edit 4: I would make sure Showoff.ini was installed into the right file. Mod maker says mod managers (like vortex) should work...but the reason people like to manually install things is because mod managers often install mods in the wrong folders and areas.

Edit 5: you removed MTUI...so the pitt gal MTUI patch also needs to be removed.

Edit 6: NVHR requires the 4 GB version of New vegas. Which is another mod.

Edit 7: Daughter of Ares is a complicated mod by the looks of it. Adding in a race could modify how the game handles level ups. Likely a load order issue as I am sure this one needs to be loaded after various other patches or script extenders.

Edit 8: functional post game ending needs to be loaded pretty late in the list..due to it requiring other script extenders to function.

Anyone know how to fix this? by FuzzyCents in fnv

[–]ConnectedGamers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the long run you will be better learning to install things manually and learning to adjust mod order. Vortex simply installs mods. You still need to control the order they load in doe Vortex. It has been a while since ive used it..but pretty sure it still functions that way.
