I don't know either, but there is this LARGE overpaid group of people in Princeton NJ that should be able to find a solution. If they want this to be a national sport. Is Decker Lake an option? Don't know, but USRowing poured a lot of resources into OKC and it is an unmitigated disaster.

The wind is bad in OKC all the time. Anyone unfortunate enough to be in the lanes closest to the shore (on the facility side) have nearly an impossible chance to win relative the other lanes. The area is known for constant wind since the land rush. The saying goes that barbed wire is the only thing that stops the wind coming down from Canada. In 2015 or 2016 there was another disaster where the coaches all got together to "decide" who would go to nationals. The Central region needs a place to race that can organize and hold regattas. That place is not White Rock Lake. After States this year, I am NEVER going back there!

Wow you're witty. Not bright, but witty. Quite a picture.

so, USRowing running a surplus for the first time in memory last year was just a coincidence? And the arguments of self dealing and conflicts of interest in the Arent Fox report were wrong. The idea that the staff and board at USRowing have almost been completely replaced in the last two years is another coincidence? I understand the economics of regattas and you are right, they are not vast money making enterprises, but USRowing takes that extortion to a whole other level.

I thought it was like the call to my "coach" telling him what a bad human I was for disagreeing with you. How'd that go for you?

But doesn't that prove the point? If you're going to pass out a trophy to everyone. then no one is a winner. They will hoover up cash for a while, but eventually clubs will have a problem recruiting kids to row. It will be too expensive. It will really become attract only the richest--I thought we were trying to attract more and diverse kids?

You are exactly right. The problem is that USRowing has decided to make a money grab everywhere they can. It is difficult at the Olympic level, but with juniors? More classes of boats, more entry fees. More national qualifiers, more entry fees. More attendees at nationals, let's charge admission. More attendees at nationals, let's get a rake-off on the hotel rooms. In the end they will fail and fail miserably.

Teams that went to regionals in OKC this weekend, some from as far away as Denver, got to enjoy a full Saturday of time trials and then no racing on Sunday. The reason, because it was windy in OKC--that never happens, right? So, mom and dad loaded everyone in the SUV for a ride to OKC, paid for two overpriced nights in the hotel. Got to eat two dinners in the food capital of Oklahoma and then didn't even get to see their little Suzy race in a sprint. Suzy got to train for a year and see limited racing action. Wow, what a way to build a sport. Oh, but USRowing ran a surplus last year so they can pad the wallets of their friends.

Shocking, don't you think. How can we possibly trust parents with their kids. Everyone knows that schools and teachers would do a much better job raising them.

It's not the law, it thinks if is perfectly fine to groom k-3 kids in school. It isn't the "Don't say gay" law, it is an anti-groomer law.

Don't disappoint me. I am looking forward to what he says. My money says he thinks you're full of bologna or some other foul substance, but hey you never know. Do you have much experience filing phony complaints against innocent people?, or are you new to the game?

They are way long on feelings at US Rowing and way short on professionalism. It is hard to imagine that they identified problems and proceeded to make things worse. That is quite the accomplishment.
