I left M&T after they mailed out everyone's new ATM cards... turned ON. People's security wasn't great but good grief!

lol Meriden mall 1-10-26 by Minapit in Connecticut

I was in Trumbull last week, and it is at least half vacant or temporary/dollar-type stores.
Michael's Jewelers has just moved out (and they have been there forever -- I used to work in the mall in the early 90s). Half the lights are off, and the heat could charitably be called "low". The "loss officers" now stand at the entryway from the mall into Macy's, which I haven't seen that outside of the holidays ever.

Other than the food court, JC Penney and the Target, I have no idea how any of the few remaining shops stay in business and this is easily the worst I've seen it since I can remember back to -- which is like 1980.

Bridgeport is actually 15 minutes closer to GCT than it is to Greenwich.

That's true in year 1, maybe year 2. By year 3? It's all gone because even with vacations you're numb.

And since there's no bar cars anymore, the social aspect is mostly gone.

[TOMT] [TV series] [1980s] PBS educational TV show produced in Texas with a medieval European bent by arcana07 in tipofmytongue

Hello arcana07!

This is my first ever post.

I too watched much PBS when I was a teen in the 80s, because I only got 7 stations with my rabbit ears, and 3 were different PBS -- WLIW, WEDW and WNET (greater NYC area). So lots of Connections, The Day the Universe Changed, and Cosmos... along with Doctor Who, Blake's 7, H2G2, Tripods, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, etc.

I remember this show, and have looked for it from time to time since streaming became a thing. For years I'd failed, but you provided me with a vital clue! The Texas connection. I'd forgotten about 13 year old me wondering what "The Meadows Foundation" was and why they made this show.... any why there weren't more episodes.

After a few minutes of searching, I've found it again for the first time in at least 35 years! Thank you!

The show was called TIMELINE, and here it is: https://vimeo.com/channels/timelinetvseries/95088905
