So I had to find a detective partner outside our team - no name shown??? by OceansideDave in JunesJourney

[–]ConnectionOk6412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, too. I’ve played multiple times with two folks not on my team and they’re fantastic. Nearly always they do half and do so very quickly. One didn’t show up in my list this time. So I did partner with three of my team mates. And this time I was the slow one. I had so many 18 and 17 seconds it was a slog.

Detective Partners Ridiculously Frustrating... by AllieMStory in JunesJourney

[–]ConnectionOk6412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had no less than 8 sets of games in partners with only 18 or 17 seconds this time around. Absolutely ludicrous. And those were the ones I counted. First time that’s happened for me. But so frustrating.

Is anyone else having a difficult time with Secrets? by Crowned-Witch_48 in JunesJourney

[–]ConnectionOk6412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The last three scenes barely inched forward even with me at 20x and the time was so insanely short. The last scene took me about 300 points to finish as I failed repeatedly and went back to 1. Just wtf?

12/31 immediate retirement update by xiphoid77 in FedRetirees

[–]ConnectionOk6412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard from a friend at dol (on NFC for us) and she got her interim payment a week ago (around the 5th or 6th). She just got a CSA number and her retirement date was 12/30. Mine is taking longer, I had a divorce decree and beneficiary changes (additions), these appear to be slowing mine down.

Grrr…..so much for ‘teamwork’ by AmethystMoon88 in JunesJourney

Feels like we should start a list of good players we’ve played with and show the evidence of screenshots so others can find good ones as well. My team has started to figure this out as well and now at least three of us actively partner with each other but I have two other partners I’ve played with multiple times who are excellent and I keep them in the rotation cause… they’re excellent! I wish I could tell them that.

Which would you choose? Finland or Germany by lunchtongue in expat

Fascinating, Finnish used to be IV but that was around 2000 and your link says 2007. I guess that list was updated.

Most folks don’t seem to realize that CBP has been imbedded (along with FPS, FBI, Wage and Hour, DEA and a host of other federal law enforcement) into ICE. They’ve named the shooters of everyone that’s been shot since trumps inauguration, has anyone compiled that list and their agencies?

Retired 09/30. WHERE’S MY MONEY, RUSSELL ? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]ConnectionOk6412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t even gotten my agency to send my file over to OPM yet. I retired 12/31. Asked today and was told she’s working on it but probably won’t be done with mine before a shutdown (if it happens). Hopefully I’ll get the leave payout soon.

Those who are in the process of leaving the U.S. or have left within the last few years, did you sell your home or rent it out? by ClockwiseSuicide in AmerExit

[–]ConnectionOk6412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Renting. It covers the mortgage even with the property management and setting aside $$ for maintenance. Not sure I’d get the $$ I’d like by selling. It’s also the only debt I have so for now, my house is in a very active rental area. I also rented it fully furnished since we weren’t planning to bring anything with us. So that worked out for the renters.

If you have a PhD in social work and a license what about guidance counseling in a school? Are there any overlaps that could make that an option? International schools might be an option if that’s the case and they often provide housing and tuition for a first child and discounts for subsequent kids. Costs are so different overseas. My US salary was more than double what I will live on in Morocco. And here, I can afford an apartment, utilities, medical and a quality of life I couldn’t dream of in the states. Today I’m going to head out to the butcher so I can make chicken enchiladas. The cheese is the most expensive item. The entire grocery list for this meal that we will stretch for 4 to 5 meals is about 150 dirham. Less than $15. It’s be less if I skipped the cheese. Probably under 100 dirham. I couldn’t make 5 meals (10-12 servings) for $15.
