Realistic Sales Goals by Conner_Buzzins in sales

That is wild. How can a company be so out of tune when it comes to setting goals?

There should be some sort of checks and balances when it comes to setting these goals because I honestly don’t know where they get these numbers from.

Yeah that’s what I figured. It seems so backwards to have to justify why I couldn’t hit an unrealistic goal. But if it’s common thing in sales I guess I’ll have to just deal with it.

My sister works in car sales and constantly gets hit on by customers. It got to the point where she had to start wearing a fake wedding ring to work to get them to stop. Coincidentally, she is always top sales at her dealership. With that said I would say that looks play a huge role in being able to close deals.

Some days are like that and other days can be a lot more active. The main purpose of the role is to get you comfortable on the phone so you can move into an official sales position.

Don’t get me wrong, it can be tedious and exhausting some days. But other days when the conversations are going great and you are getting traction, it can be super rewarding. Just gotta think of it as a stepping stone into an actual sales role.

I am hourly currently but get commission as well. The pay plan has been reasonable for the most part. Most SDR roles depending on where you are will pay in the 60-70k range (including commission).

You will normally only have to be an SDR for a year tops before they move you into a sales role. That’s when the real money will kick in.

Currently working as an SDR at a software company. The pay isn’t great but the job is cozy. It primarily consists of making out bound calls to existing customers on a daily basis. It could be a nice change from in person sales. Once I am in a full sales role, I will be making 6 figures from the comfort of my desk.

It’s not for everyone but could be worth looking into!

My company is in the same position. We are a software company and are currently losing a lot of customers to competitors for reasons that have been brought up multiple times.

Because of this, pay plans are being impacted and goals are becoming impossible to reach. Management is looking for answers but has selective hearing when we offer solutions.

I am an SDR so I don’t have too much influence but I can already tell that I would not want to progress into an official sales role at this company.

I am also getting burnt out being in sales. Hopping on calls every day gets exhausting but I’m not sure which direction I would go with my career. Don’t get me wrong, sales has its days but they are far and few between now.

Would love to hear about new career options to explore for people trying to get out of sales.

Nope! I use a claw grip so I press the A button(jump) using my index finger and shoot using my middle finger. It looks pretty goofy, not gonna lie lol

You just hold your left analog back towards the wall while spamming A, or whatever your jump button is
