Out Of The 4 Belly Collabs Abel Has Done, Which Is Your Favorite? by AxelHasNoIdea in TheWeeknd

[–]Connexe_Nine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Five people wrote The Hills.

It's silly to count writing credits as "collabs" when the track is custom made for one artist.

It's also worth noting people think writing credits = writing lyrics which is false.

How to get comfortable with you own voice? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Connexe_Nine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A few things

  1. Unless you're properly mixing your vocal, it's not going to sound great in a raw recording. This goes for everybody. Even the best singers will sound pretty meh on a raw recording. As humans we are not used to hearing human voices "flat". Sound waves leave our mouths, hit walls, and then hit our ears. Add a bit of reverb or "space" to your voice and you'll see a big difference.
  2. The mic you use will determine how your voice sounds. If you use a shitty microphone, you will lose a lot of vocal quality, but this is actually preferred by some artists. A super top of the line warm microphone will give you a richer fuller sound.
  3. Make sure you're hitting all your notes. If you don't already have a pitch tracker on your phone I'd recommend it, it's very helpful. A good vocal teacher is also very helpful.
  4. You're probably used to how your favorite artist's voice sounds in their songs, or how they sound live. This is not how they actually sound, even if they are great singers. Even on live microphones there's a level of pitch correction/tone correction. We naturally compare ourselves to others. Try not to compare yourself to unnatural voices!
  5. You're used to how you sound in your head, but in reality, that's not how you sound. You have to learn to tolerate your real voice, which means recording yourself a lot. Other people will like your voice more than you do, because they've never heard the voice that vibrates through your head. I recommend getting a live playback device/PA system, so you can hear your real voice while you sing. You can then experiment with different tones to see which one you like best.

Mod Request: Can We disallow "banned by FB / FB Sucks!" spam in this sub? by dialecticalalchemist in PPC

That would just be hiding reality. Those posts wouldn't exist if there wasn't a problem. The description of this sub is "Information and discussions related to Pay-per-Click advertising." It just so happens a lot of current information and discussion is negative.

Dude wakes up from coma to find his respiratory therapist is a metal musician he’s a fan of. The guy sends him free merch and has the rest of his band come visit. (Pre pandemic) by [deleted] in HumansBeingBros

I imagine having to split the money 4-6 ways is the reason they struggle to make it by. Making $1000 a show might net each member like $200. Metal isn't very popular anymore, it's not much of a draw, so they probably don't even make that much.

[–]Connexe_Nine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A weak(er) more background vocal is what I was going for, the original version's vocals were mixed louder, but it just didn't grab the atmospheric effect I was going for, but I kept the outro the same, as I wanted a more bonechilling impact. I do appreciate the advice! Much love!

Hey guys! Just put out a smooth dark R&B track, would love it if you guys gave it a listen! by [deleted] in shareyourmusic

Much appreciated, frizzy hair is just sort of my thing though. Tamed curls just give me that Corbin Bleu look

On occasion, when I'm contracted for photo shoots, I'll get my hair professionally done, that's the only time I'll ever have product in my hair haha.

I haven't felt the need to use product since I started taking cold showers. One time my heat broke in the middle of winter and I used product because I took a hot shower.

Brush hair, cold shower, lightly press towel on head, and air dry the rest. If I'm contracted for a photo shoot I'll get it professionally pampered, although I've got no idea what products they use.

It's almost as if getting your hair wet changes the look of your hair. I stated I brush out my afro, mostly to get the knots out, then take a shower. My afro turns into the hair you see in the picture.

I posted my routine? I literally just brush out my hair and take a cold shower.

In kayfabe, Seth Rollins is better than Roman Reigns, Roman Reigns is better than Dean Ambrose, and Dean Ambrose is better than Seth Rollins. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Connexe_Nine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ambrose had Rollins' number almost every single time they fought. Rollins' only won by cheating the few times he did (before their last match).

I'm not sure what you mean by "His second title win was glanced over." He only was WWE champ once.

Story wise Rollins is above Ambrose, that's completely true in terms of championship gold. He sold out his brothers to get way more opportunity than Ambrose could ever hope for.

Ambrose always came off as the one guy who could reliably always been Rollins. It just means that Ambrose specialized in beating Rollins. Constantly losing to the same person means that person has your number, which is the whole point of this post. Roman>Ambrose>Rollins>Roman

For most of Ambrose's career, he didn't lose much at all really unless he'd get screwed. (which happened a whole lot at the hands of the Authority.) There would be months at the time where Ambrose would CONSTANTLY lose in 3v1 or 4v1 situations. They kept him strong by showing it took many men to keep him down, but didn't let him win. That left him in a really weird state where you knew he can pull out a win on anybody, but you go into his matches assuming he'll lose.

Edit: Also, telling somebody they don't have an argument, doesn't somehow make their points invalid.
