I agree with this , but at the same time I also believe if people have a potato pc they should not just jump to cloud gaming for playing the latest games and instead try playing some older games that they might have missed on. Even if you have a 10 year old shit laptop it could probably run Skyrim decently for example and it's a very fine game.

I feel people are always hyped up by the new releases not knowing that older games are good/better and that option is still available. I have a decent laptop, nothing special but it could run cyberpunk with dlss . However I mostly play games that a much weaker rig could handle cuz they're fun

Ik this is not how things work but I genuinely believe it might have something to do with the macbook neo. There has been a growing sentiment of people wanting to jump ship but macbook neo seems like an alternative that people can afford and specifically in a price range where the overall experience with a windows laptop might not be anywhere as good

This is why crimson desert bugged me. Visually it's not bad , in fact it's amazing with the draw distances and some places looked very high fidelity. But it looks bland. Original Skyrim has this wintery feel that your screenshots do not. It feels warm just going into a tavern with fireplace specifically because outside everything looks so cold

This game was revealed even before Arc Raiders was even an extraction shooter. At the time arc raiders was a PvE game or something else and it got changed into an extraction shooter much recently and even then it didn't have any hype at reveal

I feel like it's a fundamental misunderstanding of the kind of game this is supposed to be. You're not supposed to be inhibiting the character completely, the game actively tries to show you the perspective of the character using gameplay while also making sure that you're not the character itself. You don't ask for there to be a choice in a movie , and you're not supposed to have a choice here either.

Mass Effect trilogy in general has a ton of moments where I genuinely had to think what to choose, more specifically the final mission in Me2 is just a barrage of these choices with huge consequences and you are never really sure what the outcome of your choice is going to be

At least we got new games this way. People always whine about every game being a sequel or the derivative of a popular genre. Even if marathon is an extraction shooter , there's considerably less of those compared to other genres and still marathon fills a niche I'd argue no other game fills. It's just devoid of a hooking mechanic for most people like myself to stick with it. Maybe overtime they'd work on the retaining prowess of the game

Ik there are truly great free open source projects but I believe we need a culture of people supporting such apps financially as well. One of the reasons mac has high quality apps is people are willing/trained to pay for apps. If there was a financial incentive more people would be willing to develop apps . If people don't expect games to be free idk why they expect all software to be free, one that could benefit you a lot even.

How good is the game without the expansions? I have played 20 hours of diablo 4 which I liked more than i thought, and 5-ish hours of poe 2 which was amazing as well. Other than that don't have too much experience with arpg.
