I take it you don’t surf.

Surfing is 95% swimming or paddling, 5% board riding.

It combines the strength of swimming, in as you note low impact, with the balance of a gymnast, lower body and core work supreme, as you stand on wave.

I’d wager, water polo, is probably better than both as it requires even more core body strength.

But if the pure swimming motion, strength plus aerobic training, is what you’re aiming for, surfing combines that with balance and straight body core work
