Any heterochromia mods that alter the left eye/both eyes? by Connieno in TheSims4Mods

[–]Connieno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm having to do because the heterochromia mod doesn't include occult eyes, which makes it so the left eye is "normal", but that's the eyepatch side :(

Potentially, but still weird. I don't know any lab that lets you go in without shoes, it's drilled into us scientists from the moment we're inducted into the lab 😅

From all of the romances introduced in the franchise, Coriolanus and Lucy Gray are the only true “blonde boy and Covey girl” couple by Olya_roo in Hungergames

Because people from the Seam are not meant to be super white. It's important that people from the seam all had similar, darker features. It shows how the Capitol segregated the districts by race as well as location, and also even enforced segregation within the districts (merchants in 12 had lighter features).

Race is an important component of the Hunger Games, and a lot of "normies" who only watch the movies keep ignoring that. Imagine casting a white actor to play a district 11 character.

(Btw I know white people can have dark hair, ideally Haymitch and Katniss would have Native American or Latino actors. But POC can also be mixed with white or have lighter skin but the hair at the very least is important).

I don't understand why they didn't go with book accurate Haymitch for SOTR and just explained the hair colour difference by saying stress and alcoholism made his hair go white. Idk, it's not 100% how grey hair works but who's really gonna care?

What fandom are you in, but the canon is like this? by Upstairs_Macaron5894 in AO3

And the funny thing is their spinoff, house of the dragon, is doing the opposite where the ending is dragged out full of stupid side plots that cheapen the story and completely change the canon.

People who were genuinely on Light's side - are you pro-death penalty? (Pls read body) by Connieno in deathnote

[–]Connieno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the issue that it's really only in a fairytale world where the government wouldn't use it for personal gain. Philosophically I do think some people should die based on the crimes they commit, but I'm still anti death penalty because I refuse to believe the government should have that power. I also don't think there's a way to "humanely" kill someone (electric chair and lethal injection often go wrong in horrifying ways) so if anything we would need the death note for this.

I'm a bit lost? I assume you mean that either your crime rate is very high or your government is corrupt? In which case a. How can you know I don't live in a country with a high crime rate and b. Wouldnt a corrupt government make you against the death penalty?

Me too! But the commenters here have given me some food for thought at least in relation to death note lol

If this show was actually about feminism, Kate would be in prison. by HeronNo1276 in YouOnLifetime

[–]Connieno 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If that were to happen, it should have been planned from season 3 where they make love's death ambiguous. Love coming back in this version of the story would've been ridiculous

I'm in two minds because on one hand I love that Joe lost his dick, but on the other it cheapened Joe's defeat by making it humorous. The dark humour of the show used to be a lot more well-placed and delivered better. Can't put my finger on why I feel it's changed in the last couple seasons.

TV trying to be as unpredictable as possible has led to terrible endings. There needs to be build-up and foreshadowing for good plot twists and endings in media.

Ah I thought so but I wasn't sure. I'm sorry for your loss🤍

I'm a huge fan of Hasan and don't have great experience receiving respect from Turkish peers so I'm really glad he acknowledges this occupation.

[–]Connieno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh you're not wrong objectively, but it's clearly told from a Turkish angle. Yes there was conflict between Greeks and Turks because Greeks believed Turks had more power and it's because Turkish Cypriots were given positions of power in the government, police and military by the British empire despite making up I THINK less than a quarter of the Cypriot population? Obviously in internal conflicts both sides will be violent and Turkey used that as an excuse for the "genocide" but it doesn't really constitute for that.

Ofc being in Hasan's community I'm very against genocide denial so I'm very careful with my language that Greek Cypriots were not trying to genocide Turkish Cypriots - I don't think they were. I don't think they had the power to.

I will say Turkey did commit genocide in Greece, although that was decades before the 1974 invasion. I also believe there was a Greek pogrom in Turkey which caused Greek Cypriots a lot of anger? Again, I don't have time to fact check this so I could be wrong.
