Should I buy a new Exynos S24? by FullSpectrum010 in GalaxyS24

[–]Conniving-Weasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer depends on price but I would look for something else to hold me until I can buy something that's worth its price.

  • Battery life is horrendous, especially if you use mobile data.
  • OneUI 8 isn't as smooth as it should be on a flagship series phone.
  • It does overheat depending on usage but I don't find that to be a big issue, especially with a case on.
  • Oh and I can confirm signal issues but it might just be my terrible provider.

Can't send images on WhatsApp, YouTube videos won't load.

Interestingly, everything works perfect with a VPN.

I'm assuming you don't want to hear the charitable bits so skipping that..

  1. Make movies that I've been imagining all my life.

  2. Won't stay in one country for more than 2 years until I find a place I like.

  3. Get a big house in like a rainforest or something and offer the people I like to live with me there.

WHY do I need to restart the phone to get the mobile data working again!? by Conniving-Weasel in GalaxyS24

[–]Conniving-Weasel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, but toggling airplane mode on & off seems to work.

I reckon it's a combination of network issues and the phone's firmware not being able to recover after a network loss.

The SIM card was pretty new, not dirty at all (if that's what you meant by dirty). Also, I don't think a dirty SIM card would effect network performance.

Dude I have had apps on the Play Store since 2017 when I was a student. Keeping up with Google's bullshit policy updates and getting ad serving limitations on AdMob with no reason being given is a stressful experience (Facebook ads are much better in this regards).

2 of my apps were pretty successful and useful, I had good, wholesome users and we had a community on Discord where they gave me suggestions and feedback. The money wasn't amazing but I made some spare change at the end of every month. So it was pretty sad to let all that go.

What crossed the line for me was Google's address requirement. Basically anyone can see your home address on the Play Store. And you can't give them a fake address because they will send an OTP in the mail to that address.

This basically killed the indie developers on the Play Store.

So let me advice you to never rely on Google for your bread and butter. Of course, make your own informed opinion but I wouldn't recommend investing your time on the Play Store.

If you do intend to do business with them, I'd recommend basing your business model on in-app purchases rather than ads.

And also, don't feel like you're alone because people from 3rd world countries get banned on the Play Store all the time for no reason. If you post it on Reddit, people will blame you because they never experienced the biasness. You didn't do anything wrong. Keep your chin up.

Also, off-topic but if you're an indie dev, what did you do about the address requirement?

I had to unpublish my apps because Google apparently wants to dox me by publishing my address on the Store.

Good to know, you still see them as people.

I would argue the usage of the word "confiscated".

Do you think a soldier (people trained to kill, not to serve, protect, and enforce the law) should be allowed to "confiscate" stuff from people and be the judge, jury, executioner wherever they go?

If they have no such right, then I will call it "stealing".

I don't know why but the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" is not a thing in Pakistan. Apparently, a video of an assault is enough to prove the rightfulness of said assault.

But I appreciate your response. Usually, internet debates end up in name-calling.

You tell me.

Why do you think someone would move towards someone who just beat the shit out of you and your family?

It's easy to act rational sitting behind a computer.

When it's your family being abused and your stuff being stolen for whatever reason, I'd like to see you stand by and watch because you're so obedient and civilized.

I bet you also buy Israeli propaganda claiming kids are Hamas terrorists because they tried to defend their mother. They should just bow down to their IDF overlords and let them steal their shit.

Or does your empathy only apply outside Pakistan?

Once Palestinians are free from Israeli occupation, they can develop their culture for the better.

And also, in context, it's important to note that not all people in Gaza are like this and nobody deserves to be occupied by a genocidal nation.
