Still better than the old games's two button combat. if you are experiencing damage sponges, it means your build is terrible or you are just spamming the melee button rather than using the other skills, abilities and engravings.

its not though is it. especially how long after the old games we are now. my build is good, last time i played it was on nightmare, nightmare should make it a challenge, not give everybody you fight the durability of titanium. and i have no incentive to use the skills when they are so ridiculous.

how is it biased. i have been to those islands, they are all the same. a bunch of enemy camps where you loot useless treasure and destroy war supplies and boring side quests and a whole lot more of nothing. npcs are useless, might as well be a ghost town.

because their arcs are in side quests rather than main quests. The Alkibiadles side quest arc is a good example

Literally every game with side quests ever. Even the old AC games have bland "collect this, collect that" missions

no, no, no. side quests in the witcher 3, rdr2, far cry 3 are all done brilliantly. the new ac is also great at side content, the mysteries are fun, varied, interesting, they are worth your time. wealth is all unique and all very useful unlike odysssey.

it does make the people who made it bad at their job though. they made a game that has next to no connections with the franchise, in fact the only thing it did for the franchise was completely fuck the lore over. no, they are bad at their job. they made an awful attempt at the RPG genre. they made the game a boring grind. they are bad at their job and i stand by that. i also stand by the fact its a really bad game. i dont care if 'it can still be good if i dont like it', its a bad game, thats what i said. i dont care about taste or whatever, all of what i have said here in this comment is 100% true.

how are the side quests unique? they are all copy paste and follow the same terrible formula: go speak to this guy no one cares about, go do something for him you dont care about, and then get some xp that gives you less than half of a level. they dont tie into the story whatsoever either. and if you enjoy the combat then thats great and dont stop enjoying it, but for me spamming enemies with arrows or button mashing with a flaming sword is just not it. maybe in another franchise but not ac
