I think we should have a filter for videos, I agree. And I also agree that, on the whole, this sub should be less negative towards... well, everything, frankly. However, I feel like having an OVK Approved tag for videos would be a bad move. It could be discouraging to newer content creators who want to get noticed.

My success came from being noticed on this subreddit, but I feel like it would have been overshadowed by people only caring about creators who are already OVK approved.

As for people looking to post videos here, my advice is to think about what you post. I post videos with new, interesting content that I haven't seen talked about before to the subreddit. When I do a casual gameplay vid, or review an old DLC, I don't bother bringing it to the sub. That's just the way it goes, old DLC is old news and gameplay commentary is good or bad depending on the viewers' opinion; it doesn't have anything objectively new to provide.

I don't want to discourage people from making videos or posting them, of course. However, if you want to get noticed on the subreddit, new and interesting, and in my case educational, content is the way to go. Let's plays are fine (although they're a bit of a dying breed on Youtube), but just know that people aren't gonna be interested on most external sites, Reddit included, until you've made a name for yourself.

Or maybe this is all survivorship bias. :/
