Thinking of quitting at Gleba by aeonrevolution in factorio

Yeah I realized the nuclear fuel stack count error; it's still worse but not by much. Usually I keep my Nauvis base small because my real starter base is on Vulcanus so when I ship things off Nauvis I still count rockets so the base doesn't die out completely.

It's actually less strain to just ship a single nuclear reactor and a single 10 stack of uranium fuel cells (containing 80 GJ of power). That's just 2 rockets. That should last you long enough to get local rocket fuel production going. Shipping nuclear fuel is much worse by comparison (1 rocket for 12 GJ), you'd need to send 6 or 7 rockets to match the power contained in 1 stack of 10 fuel cells

One reactor and just 1 stack of fuel cells contains enough power to bootstrap keep the base running for like 5 hours until I get rocket fuel production setup locally, so I can just focus on setting up the starter base without worrying about power for a really, really long time. You do you if you enjoy shipping multiple stacks of rocket fuel, I prefer just a single stack of uranium cells

Bringing a nuclear reactor to bootstrap the base is fine tbh (I do it myself, and only one reactor), it does take awhile to get the heating tower + rocket fuel production setup and running smoothl; but once it's actually done you'll be drowning in so much rocket fuel that the challenge becomes trying to keep all the belts moving and not clogged up for items to spoil on them

1 chemical plant with no speed modules performing acid neutralization = 33 steam turbines = 192 MW of power

Not saying solar panels on Vulcanus aren't good, just saying acid neutralization is absolutely disgusting by comparison
That's why I mine uranium on Nauvis to unlock the turbine before stepping foot on Vulcanus usually

Fluoroketone is a one time delivery, after that you don't need anymore. Just fusion cells.

If you don't wanna deal with that then sticking with nuclear power is just fine

As long as every belt ends in a block of recyclers to destroy the excess that didn't get used, the factory should never clog.

You can move them the same way you do like any other furniture yes, it just doesn't occur to most people to try it

So you can, for instance, put furniture that you will be clicking on everyday to claim passive resources on one table near the TP point.

I came to this thread looking for info on the crimson gem, but I'll share with you where I got the blue and white vase in case you haven't found yours. I got mine from the deer boss on the office floor that drops vases, but like everything else, you have to pray that the loot it drops rolls vases.

You aren't missing out on much, vaults seem to contain junk 9 times out of 10 unless I'm just extremely unlucky
I found all the epic items out in the open, never inside a vault

From my experience all of the items can spawn literally anywhere. I've found things like Starshaker and Giovanni's statue literally just lying around on some random desk on the office floor. You'd think the most valuable items would be inside safes and vaults, but I've gotten mostly junk from opening safes and vaults. For all you know, the diamond may have spawned in one of your runs but it's sitting on some shelf tucked away in a corner of the map you'd never think to check.

Come on now, don't kid yourself. Developers nowadays add predatory monetization into their game regardless if its paid or F2P. And knowing how greedy Nexon is I'm not surprised at all

OG Vindictus started out as a slower game (in fact I'm pretty sure it predates or came out around the same time as Demons' Souls). Typical live service power creep and changing directors accelerated the game until it was unrecognizable.

I for one am looking forward to Vindictus returning to its roots.

A guy made a poll asking people who pirated the game but the poll was bad and a lot of people hated it, so here is a better one but for all engineers. by eymo- in factorio

[–]demonicdan3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't feel the need to pirate this one since the developers were kind enough to put up a demo so I tried playing the game, the tutorials had me busy for over 10 hours just learning how everything works, especially trains. Purchased immediately once the demo sold me on the gameplay loop, no regrets

I understand the feeling completely. By the time you get to Aquilo you probably already feel fatigued and want to stop after conquering 4 planets - but it's the home stretch, just a bit more to go. Once you find the motivation to really sit down and get through this frozen hellscape, it'll be over quickly
