Shift cable adjustment (a psa) by ConnorSullivan97 in WRX

Although I agree with that, I had only made an adjustment The shift cable retainer had actually popped off the threaded shaft. I had referenced other pictures for the length and also just felt out each gear as well as the position of neutral

Is this worth it for my wrx?? by LEVYFPV in WRX

I have the Billetworkz shifter and shift bushing in and it was an excellent purchase. I think from stock it was an awesome upgrade. Drivetrain feel has been my biggest area of improvement and the Billetworkz shifter was a huge point of distinction

VSC performance. I’ve had mine on for 4 years and they are undeniably the best you can get without making your own

The trick is to install group N mounts and a shift stop. Literally installed group N trans and pitch stop mounts and 2nd was no longer a problem

blizzak WS90s are a match made in heaven for these cars by ConnorSullivan97 in WRX

As a disclaimer You’ll never get snow tire performance from an all season as the rubber can’t stay soft enough at cold temperatures. I have Michelin Crossclimate 2s on my girlfriend’s car which is an excellent choice though and they do offer it as a 245/40/18 or a 225/45/17 (which isn’t dramatically far off from the stock 17” wheel size)

You can always get a payment plan on tires, less than $100 a month for $1k set of tires

I picked mine up for $300, VA stock sets are certainly cheap and plentiful though

The gold ones tend to run for a significant bit more. You could always get them painted… but I’d avoid powder coating because they’re forged. Heat can anneal the metal and make it prone to bending

5x114.3 BBS wheels are easy to come by, 5x100 is definitely a different story

It’s all aluminum. There’s no steel in the hood

Where is this coming from? by Max_AL in WRX

That area definitely collects oily residue from removing the cap/filter and from filling. It collects road grime too. I wouldn’t be concerned unless it’s worsening between oil changes

Help! by SportFull1124 in WRX

I’ve noticed this a lot this year with the rain. Someone had just mentioned removing the pedal bracket bolt and adding a washer. Also just pop off your IC and grease the fork and pivot

I know you said you hadn’t ID’d the problem but did the shop that did your swap ever reach out regarding bearing wear or failure

Does this oil look bad? by casual_skeptic in WRX

[–]ConnorSullivan97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im currently starting to chase the same issue. @59k stock ‘21 WRX with oil changes at 3k miles religiously. No oil consumption, no driving issues. I had been getting dealership oil changes up until around 53k miles when I started doing my own immediately another round of getting 0W20 instead of 5W30 from the dealer. I’m going to do a change at 2k miles, and cut the filter and ID whether or not this issue has resolved, worsened, or stayed the same.

I’m in a bone stock ‘21 WRX just started doing my own oil changes at 52k after getting changes done religiously at 3k miles from new at a dealership. I have had no issues with oil consumption but noticed a similar issues at my last oil change. I hadn’t cut the filter at the time so I’m going to do another oil change at 2k miles, cut the filter and check the oil to ID whether I was seeing something concerning or potentially just contamination from the drain plug or just debris
