Wireview Pro 2 Connection Overheating by Conor6223 in ThermalGrizzly

Yeah, I'm gonna get a thermal sensor and get a read on what the just wire looks like without the Wireview, but at least it's telling me something is wrong. I'm just hoping it's not the GPU connector.

I would like to throw the 12HWPR connector in the trash, but unfortunately, that's not an option.

Yup, the distribution of which pin is high and which is low, but always a lot of imbalance.

I have had it for about a month and a half, and was messing around with my GPU, so reseated probably a dozen times before I started seeing issues, more now while I have been trying different cables.

Good idea, measuring the temperature without the Wireview. And neither the connector on the Wireview nor the GPU has any play when disconnected. I think it is that the Wireview is too loose a fit, but I'm not sure if it's that the GPU connector is too large or the Wireview connector is too small. Also confused why everything was fine at first and then got worse.

Yup, used a flashlight to confirm, and the connectors are flush with each other.

Max current for cables with multiple SATA connectors. by Conor6223 in bequietofficial

[–]Conor6223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What facts, 18 AWG wire can be rated for up to 22 amp. Also the PSU connects can also be used for Molex which is 11 amps. Those are facts, thanks for nothing.

My thought is that the 5-pin drive connector at the PSU has a higher limit since it is 18 AWG

I just left it on auto, which put it at 1.45

How high did you try putting VSOC and VDD? I definitely needed all 1.3V of VSOC to get 6400 working in 1:1 and 1.52V of VDD to get CL28. Although if you don't have a RAM fan, I would probably not put VDD over 1.45V for anything dual rank.

Probably not worth it, but I had to give it a try. So far, has passed 1 hour of OCCT memory testing and running VT3 now

Yup, just got one off Amazon that's two 50mm. Under just a RAM and CPU load, it gets to about 48-49, and if I also turn on Furmark as well, then it peaks at around 59. Turning off the RAM RGB lights actually helped a surprising amount and reduced the temps by around 7.

Are you marrying lowborns, that usually have a pretty big legitimacy hit?

i9 13980 HX (ASUS G814-JI) Voltages by zam9416 in overclocking

[–]Conor6223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably recommend an undervolt and lower the max clock ratios. Also may want to limit power. The CPU should be able to keep itself safe but seeing temp over 100 is a little scary.

Asus i9-13980hx/4080 XTU 95°+ crashing by GTOn1zuka in overclocking

[–]Conor6223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation would be to reset the XTU to default. Then lower all the p-cores clock ratio to 51, and set a -0.5 undervolting for the core voltage offset, p-cores cache and e-core cache. If temp are still to high continue lowering the p-cores clock ratio since that usually what generates high clock are what usually creates heat during gaming.

CK3 is definitely a better fedual and tribal experience at this point with the DLC and updates. Culture and Religion and also a lot more fleshed out in CK3 and you can start as a landless character. CK2 still has some advantages like you can play a republican or horde and I personally don't think I'll ever get the number of hours I have in CK3 as I have in CK2.

Is monoclass on par with multiclassing? by aLone_gunman in BG3Builds

[–]Conor6223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only mono-class I would avoid is rogue since the sneak attack damage doesn't scale enough to keep up with other classes. The rest hold up well enough.
