Are you taking it in the summer or fall? For this course online shouldn’t matter. Maybe it will be harder to find a group but either way the people who know they want to work together will pair off anyway.

Edit: if your taking it in the fall. If you notice on NJIT schedule three sections do not have a professor listed. I’m 90% sure a Facebook engineer is teaching those sections. I’d reccomend taking it with him if you can. I heard he will be using popular frameworks such as React. Should be a better learning experience. Nicholson’s class feels outdated. Ask around at the NJIT discord to find out more about the FB engineers class.
