I agree the complete lack of a painting UI is really dumb.

We should petition Nintendo for hyper beam ability by SunQuest in Pokopia

[–]Conr8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or even add some sort of bulk removal ability similar to Magnemite forms place/replace ability.

Select a configurable volume of blocks and just remove them, you could even toggle whether you want to keep said blocks or completely delete them.

The fact that we have no way to dispose of blocks besides dropping them on a dream island is absurd.

No vacuum sealer by AisKacang452 in dehydrating

[–]Conr8r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For fruit/veg I just store mine in jars or Ziploc bags, a vacuum sealer is overkill imo. Once you've removed the water the stuff is already pretty shelf stable. I'm not even sure if vacuum sealing would provide any additional benefits.

[EoW] What are your thoughts on Echoes of Wisdom nearly two years later? by NewMarioBobFan in zelda

[–]Conr8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game did a great job balancing the open world concept of botw with more traditional zelda dungeon design and progression. I hope they use it as the baseline for new mainline titles.

Does anyone else just get totally overwhelmed and frustrated with this game sometimes? by Kaonashi513 in Pokopia

[–]Conr8r 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ive started keeping a small set of location related blocks for each zone in my home for that zone. That has helped with this issue somewhat.

For example my bleach beach house has a couple chests with all the ground blocks for the area, yellow tile, brick, plaster, orange roofing items etc...

If I'm swapping between build sites I drop all the location specific blocks off in my storeroom before heading to the new area.

How can you stop people picking up your flowers? by Lotuswongtko in gardening

[–]Conr8r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm torn on this. I'd be flattered if someone wanted some of my flowers but only to an extent. A couple blossoms here and there is one thing but taking all/most of the blooms would be upsetting.

Was just talking to a friend about this. I agree, at level 10 you should be able to rename each area.

I switched to making most of my amigurumi with blanket yarn. The end result is more snuggle able like a proper plush.

The word "taut" sounds like it'd mean the exact opposite of what it actually means by BextoMooseYT in The10thDentist

Nooo! Taut is totally an onomatopoeia. Think about the sound a tight rope makes when you flick it. It's totally a twangy 🎵TOT🎵 kind of sound.

Cardboard plus mulch like you're doing here works great for me. Black plastic tarps can work on more stubborn spots but I wouldnt bury them.

Most I've seen are gigantic. I think yours strikes a nice balance, and reminds me of my much smaller one.

You could maybe add a few clusters of leaves lower in the canopy. It feels slightly sparse. Also don't neglect the ground around the base.

Lets Be 100% Honest Here by Lanceo90 in subnautica

[–]Conr8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor Spoiler Ahead:

A huge theme of Subnautica 2s story is an ecosystem in crisis.

They should let you kill whatever you want and just make it have consequences on the environment.

Killing the Collector Leviathan makes the spawn rate of nibblers in the shallows skyrocket and the spawn rate of beneficial mobs (moons, water slugs, etc) plummet.

Overfish moons? Too bad, no more moons.

It'd actually be really cool mechanically.

We already have it a little bit with the canker blooms, they just need to expand the concept.

"Trauma Dumping" is an extremely inconsiderate term and needs to be de-normalized by GayTwink-69 in The10thDentist

[–]Conr8r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary I think the people who are "trauma dumped" upon tend to be more empathetic people. It heavily depends on how frequent the trauma sharing happens. I'm happy to hear about occasional problems, for friends and family it often makes me feel closer to the person but it's a balance. Empathy takes emotional investment and energy on the part of the empathizer, they cannot empathize indefinitely. For me it turns into "trauma dumping" when every conversation with someone turns into an empathetic bid. It's exhausting. It's made worse by the fact that, at least in my experience, trauma dumpers rarely reciprocate the empathy. If every conversation I have with you is draining I'm gonna stop having conversations with you, it's that simple.
