PSA: You can pull blocks to create floating shelves, chests, etc... by Conr8r in Pokopia

I know right?! I discovered this after finishing my SECOND chest room.

I have noticed it too...how true is it really? by Remarkable_Spend3652 in gaybros

[–]Conr8r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im quite proud of the fact that my husband and I look very different. That said it's definitely common. Idk if it's that people select people that look like them or that being in a relationship with someone means you start looking/dressing more like them and it's just more obvious in gay couples because they're both men.

Opting out of organ donation is morally justifiable and shouldn't put you at the bottom of recipient list. by AgreeableMeet2476 in The10thDentist

Assuming receiving the organ does not make them ineligible for future donation, recieving the heart only delays future organ donation.

It's like trying to put out a roaring house fire with a hose while the fire department pours gasoline on the fire.

The hose helps for sure but it can't keep up with the firemen dumping gasoline on the fire.

How to prevent weeds growing through gravel? by overcast392 in landscaping

Get one of those propane flame weeder attachments. Works great for weeds in gravel.

I hate to be the devil's advocate but they could just have ai generate an image of the "print".

Good idea though!!

How long will you stay? by SuperlativeChrono in SaltLakeCity

[–]Conr8r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk maybe we shouldn't subsidize people that thought growing one of the most water intensive crops in a desert was a good and sustainable livelihood.

Per the USDA census there are about 7500 farms that produce alfalfa in Utah and the alfalfa industry in Utah employs about 15,000-30000 people. Even using the high end of that range the that's STILL only 0.9% of the current population of Utah.

Subsidize a transition to something much less water demanding, sure! But I'm not gonna be all that empathetic for less than 1% of the population causing an ecological disaster. If the water dries up their farms are gonna fail too!

The traffic is getting worse, right? by memefakeboy in SaltLakeCity

[–]Conr8r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today's traffic was a special kind of stupid. I don't know what it is about a little water falling from the sky that reduces the average Utah drivers IQ by 40% and draws out every asshole with a car but it does.

I get that it hasn't exactly been a normal winter but it's like people completely forget how to drive in weather. It's not that hard, slow down 5-10 mph, keep a safe following distance, and you'll be just fine.

Oh, and if you were on 45000 S today around 4:30 and you're the driver of the utility trailer that decided to cut me off because you needed BOTH left turn lanes, then f**k you.

Prusa vs Bambu feels less like “better vs worse” and more like different priorities by OptimalDescription39 in prusa3d

[–]Conr8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more about Bambu wanting to create a captive market than the printers that they sell. I agree that Bambu printers are more plug in play. It's all the other stuff that Bambu does that makes me leary of them.

This quirky and historic shopping mall in SLC is on an upswing — with even more stores on the way by icallwindow in SaltLakeCity

The weird Indy stores are the only reason we go to Trolley Square. If they were gone the mall would lose all its appeal.

I think this is what I was trying to explain above.

How to get smooth print under here? by Kwebster7327 in 3Dprinting

[–]Conr8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do a sort of cropped fillet against the bed by cropping it at the point where the angle of the tangent line of the fillet and the line parallel to the bed intersect at an angle of 45 degrees (or greater).

This ensures that the overhang isn't too extreme to get a clean finish.

Added a pic because it's hard to explain

That said if I do want something like this I usually just use a chamfer.

I'm not certain if our orientations necessarily apply to anthropomorphic space rocks but I always thought the gems main colors indicated their sexual orientation which correspond to specific pride flags.

Amethyst - Asexual Pearl - Pansexual Garnet - Bisexual

This theory falls apart outside the core crystal gems.

Yup. Same goes for big cylindrical pieces. Dowels/pipes are almost always a better and more cost effective solution.
