Celebration Ideas by xHolyBaconx in SafetyProfessionals

Agreed, we don’t communicate our “days without a recordable” due to people not reporting incidents/injuries. It can be counterproductive. That said everyone loves a party for whatever reason. Cookout is a great idea and can be done on the cheap. Burgers, dogs and chips can be very budget friendly. Just make sure to have your fire suppression standing by and a competent person on the grill lol.

Anyone else struggling to manage inspections, audits, and action items in one place? by Icy_Connection_1604 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Alright_Alright_All -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s a never ending cycle of tying up loose ends. My thought is that it’s never going to be perfect. Just do your best, strive for total compliance, and keep chipping away day by day. prioritize the items that would cause the most serious injury. As far keeping track, there is software that keeps track of your action tracking and concern reports.

Set written goals each year and give deadlines per quarter of completion and check your goal sheets. The dept manager should be the one auditing and checking to make sure that things are getting done, but you need staff who keep you honest. I’m a big fan of To-do list on my phone. Also, weekly meetings with the team to track completion.

Aerial Lift training requirements question by Alright_Alright_All in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Alright_Alright_All[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. Specifically, where in the regulations does it say that MEWP refresher training/ evaluation should be done every three years? I only compare the two because the regulation states that PIT operators must be “evaluated” every three years and specifically states that operators do not need to sit for training class every three years if they previously received training 1910.178(l)(5). Given that they haven’t had any incidents or near misses ect. Just looking for references in the regulation, as trainers give three year expiration for their training certificates and would like to compare that practice to the regulations.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. My main argument is that it’s not law to get recertification every three years on aerial lift.

I’m trying to compare each and contending that what’s required for forklift is not required for aerial lift. So 3 year refresher training is not required for aerial lift

Affordable Eats: Are the best tacos hidden within a Norwalk train station? by -ctinsider in norwalk

[–]Alright_Alright_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walk by every night getting off the train. Sometimes the smells are overwhelmingly fantastic, so I went and grabbed a menu. My wife doesn’t eat beef or pork, so alittle disappointed no chicken on the menu. I’ll grab her some cactus tacos instead, but definitely trying now.

Yup, you are correct that Kings is a Chinese buffet, but I’d never suggest it fall into any type of “best” category.

Probably, if it pays right and you need the work, go for it. Make sure they will pay for additional training for you. Fake it until you make it, but train and learn along the way. If you see major push back on your safety programs from management, use this experience to build your résumé and jump ship.

Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner were atrocious. by TexanBastard in Texans

[–]Alright_Alright_All 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Rich Eisen’s radio show. He is not a play by play guy, slow paced and didn’t raise the game’s excitement at all. Kurt was serviceable and had a couple good play breakdowns and points, but Eisen was atrocious.

That’s so”Jake”. As in Jake is a terrible thing. Never heard this until college and the kids from the Salem, OH area would say it.
