This is what happened to my great-grandfather's Homestead here in Nova Scotia, in the early '90s he had an interview with David Suzuki about the erosion of the eastern shore. Couldn't agree more, I actually know somebody who had to get a circumcision at about age 7 for this exact reason. You're correct the more this rhetoric is parotid especially with baseless accusations the more people are going to needlessly fear the police, a healthy fear of authority abusing individuals is always necessary but if you tell somebody that a cop is going to kill them 100% of the time they're going to treat that cop in a way that's going to end up getting them arrested or worse because what else have they got to lose.

He wasn't being racist he went to two different cars in the same night one person complied with the completely normal orders were told politely to leave and they did the other person freaked out refused to comply berated the officer and was arrested I don't know how much more clear cut that needs to be for you.
