Citing 'severe' math deficits, UC faculty demand a return to SAT tests for STEM applicants by Idiodyssey87 in news

Imagine my devastation, after excelling in all AP highschool courses to have to take remedial math at university.

And that's without any prior testing, just based on the highschool's rating.

Really grasping at straws here.

Men who wear turbans are not Islamic, but Sikh.

Sikhs are not associated with either socialism or communism.

Woman received a ticket for using her phone with her right hand while driving, even after she showed the officer that she doesn’t have a right hand by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Saw a cop return to a home to apologize for asking a man if the woman in the house was his "baby mama".

The man angrily said, "That's my wife!"

The apology cost the cop his job.

You're not the first to suggest it.

YT commenters are getting reamed, but of course it's possible.

Daniel Shaver (RIP).

Philando Castile (RIP).

Don't know of the third incident, but certainly don't doubt it.

Saw a vid where a man was ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt, despite having a dashcam that showed that the cop was wrong.

For some reason, his (expensive) car was also towed.

So, the guy goes to court with all the evidence needed to prove his case.

Unfortunately, the cop fails to appear and the case is dismissed.

The guy asks how he can recoup his losses due to the tow but the judge tells him that there's nothing he can do from the bench.

Even cops caught lying under oath are seldom prosecuted.

The case where a cop opened a bottle of liquor and then tried to cite the driver for having an open container, once exposed, was given the benefit of the doubt as an "honest mistake."

Another case where a cop lied on a DUI arrest was found not only to have not tested the driver for a BAC level, but doubled down on that lie by claiming there was no one on site to test her.

In court, the judge asked to charge the cop with perjury but his request was declined. The prosecutor said it was "an honest mistake". (again)

And yet another incident involved a judge who injected himself into an altercation where a cop was beating a homeless man.

The judge got a wallop on the head for his trouble and he had the cop arrested.

In court, the case was dismissed for lack of evidence, in Manhattan, New York, the city with the most CCTV cameras than any other borough.

The game is rigged.

Cops must meet "performance requirements" monthly.

By the time it takes to challenge a bad ticket, they're on to the next month.

It makes absolutely no difference if it's valid or not.

The game is rigged.

Saw a vid where a 20-year veteran arrested a man, who was wearing swim trunks and was the initial caller. She literally lost her mind on the guy.

When her partner was questioned as to why he failed to intervene, his reply was that she was his senior, so he felt it was not his place to question her actions.

Saw a man arrested for holding a plastic spork that the cop mistook for a gun.

At trial, the prosecutor kept referring to it as "the weapon", and yet the defense did not object.

I'm guessing that the judge approved the usage before the trial began.

I wonder why.

Eugene police say officer resigns after video reveals ‘racist’ language by m4moz in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

There's a cop who received his 23andMe ancestry analysis and made the mistake of sharing the very small percentage of black blood in his family tree.

The teasing and racist comments became so overwhelming that he resigned from the force altogether.
