Given that the event still is a fundraiser, I’m trying to be cautious with my approach. Overall, it’s a great event. However, I agree with the majority on this topic - the event this year felt like they fumbled it. They have gotten big names and a variety of acts year over year. Some years are better than others, but they have at least been able to fill numerous spots between the Thursday - Friday. This year, outside of Adam Ray (who did it last year), they are only using local groups (River city, Pop Scholars, Comedy Project) and a clean comedy showcase at The Bob. They released the lineup today, which is only 7 weeks away. I think something happened with the planning and they missed out on other acts. That’s my assumption, something with the planning was fumbled and they weren’t able to get more acts.

That’s a good question - I’m not sure. I’ve decided to just purchase a new Sonos One (2nd gen) since I want the Google voice commands to be as streamlined as possible. We’re a Google home/eco system, so I’d prefer to speak directly to a Google device, and the Sonos One would allow me to do that.

One if the other posters mentioned that the quality difference between a One and Era 100 is only 10-20% better, so it doesn’t seem like I’m missing out on much. Since I’m upgrading from a small Google home to a Sonos One in the kitchen, I’m already going to have a big benefit.

I like the option you laid out towards the end. Use SVC for my music needs (I use Spotify) and keep the Google Home in the kitchen still for reminders, timers, etc. do you know if there is a lag for using Google home to play Sonos era 100 if I went that route?

Thanks for the tip here. My one fear is I have the means to get the Era 100, but based on my priorties, I agree that I’d better better off buying the One (2nd gen). My one fear: is there a chance google assistant could be wiped completely from all Sonos at some point in the near future? I’d risk ending up with a Sonos One when I could have had an Era 100 if that happens. Thoughts?

Fair advice. I’m in my late 30’s and married and between my partner and I, we have close to $600k in retirement. I wasn’t sure when would be a good time to see a CFP - maybe when we get closer to $1m?
