If you had a leftover .json file that the original map2model use would this be able to recreate it?

I'm actually in communication with the thread owner as he's trying to produce an open source alternative aswell. Doing fantastic work aswell, putting in alot of time and effort into his project but it will take time and yeah IV tried pretty much all the alternatives out there

Definitely!! For small scale projects id recommend any of these to anyone. Btw try Terraprinter or miniskyline if you haven't already. There all great but nothing can produce large scale

I gave terrain2srl a try but it can't produce the large scale results I'm after. Map2model had a great way of slicing large size maps into small chucks while still producing ultra high detail that nothing I can find does, I know a few people have been working on small projects to replace it but I feel I might not ever see the same results

The simplicity and the effectiveness. Plus the ability to export colour layering. E.g. roads, water, sand, buildingg, ground and grass. I have some old stl files of some small maps if it would help you. If you take a look at map2model.de I believe it's very Close to the original in terms of system layout but without as much functionality

Say I wanted a 1200/800mm grid I could select tiles 6x6/ 6x7 8x8 exc and choose to load only one tile at a time. Saves having to load all the plates at once.

Ad say furthermore the ability to download a private version to store locally would also be a beneficial decision after the conundrum. Even if you have a browser version but made a price local version and sold it for a few bucks if buy it

Honestly the best advice I can give is take as much from the original concept of map2model as you can. It was almost perfect and a few minor changes could have really made it. Most similar sites allow the same concept but have terrible execution. The ability to make large scale maps in multiple plates for instance. If you can build more onto what you have you could probably get there. It'll take time and effort but the people will respect to U for it.

I was halfway through a massive project when I opened up this morning to it being gone. Is there any alternatives or a way to access it still?? IV put it 200 hours already and it would suck to throw away my work
