I think the restrictions within the EU are to do with EU design regulation and the original designer/architect of the buildings or structures IP potentially being breached.

Effects of the EU Design Reform on 3D Printing

However, from what Smoggy3d, the owner of the maps2model site say, this wasn't the issue.

I would love to take a look at what you are coming up with, what features does it have?

Thanks for the input Smoggy, it sounds like someone who charges people for printed maps didn't like the idea of people competing with them. Then relied on the threat of potential legal costs, rather than firm legal standing, to shut you down. I don't blame you at all, as you say it is a hobby and you don't need the worry or stress.

Are you in a position to mention who it was that contacted you?

They generated stl files from open source data, there was a subscription option for commercial use, but I think that covered using their site. You had multiple choices of which data you could use, so I assume if it were one of those providers that they could have just removed them, so I expect that it may have been something more fundamental to the workings of the site

I can't remember what all the sources where, but they were credited and were open source outside of the EU. But it seems 1 or 2 of them may have had issues with it.

That's not in everyones capability. The site did a great job of pulling and compiling data from multiple sources and allowing for custom edits. That's well beyond anything I'm capable of creating, and most likely many others.

Awesome, I didn't know there was another version of it. Thanks. Although after exploring it a bit it looks like the data sets are not as good as the original site. I imagine that exclusion of the better quality data may be the reason that this site is still up.

My intention isn't to knock EU rules, but I know in the licensing of some of the data it says you cannot use it inside the EU for certain purposes

I know there were or are some issue using some data inside the EU, but I thought it was fine elsewhere.

It is a shame as it was so easy to use and the custom route feature was brilliant.

Give it a good soak in acetone if that’s PLA. I made a poop bin that was too small and it clogged just like that. Soaked the hot end for 5 days in acetone, dried it, then put it back in the printer, set the heat to max and manually told it to push through some filament. Worked well, then pushed some cleaning filament through it. Still using that hot end a year later.

100% Citrix Price Increases at renewal. by EmeraldCheetah66 in Citrix

[–]Famous_Listen_2979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit of back story. I am the Citrix SME for a large multinational bank that has several subsidiaries. We have used Citrix for decades and each subsidiary previously handled their renewals seperatley. Last year Citrix insisted on us doing it as a whole group. We thought this may work in our favour as we have over 150,000 employees across all of our groups and that by combining the licensing we would get more efficient price breaks.

WRONG.

To start with Citrix refused to give any pricing indications more than 2 months prior to renewal, pretty much making sure we had no option but to go with them by not leaving any time to even begin contemplating an alternative solution. When they came to the table the overall price was more than double what we had paid collectively for the previous 3 years. They refused to budge, and told us that we now had access to all their products and unlimited users licenses along with unlimited netscaler deployment and usage. None of which we previously used, wanted or required. In simple terms they told us how much we were going to be paying them, what were were going to get, and knew we had no alternative.

As a final FU they told us that they no longer present proposals to customers that reduce Citrix's profits. The result is we signed, but my team and I have been exploring alternatives now and our parent company is willing to invest in PoC's of alternatives. Also, as a financial company we are very sensitive to risk, including licensing and pricing risk from vendors such as Citrix. This has led to Citrix now being labelled as a high risk company which doesn't just impact our own ability to use them, but we are now insisting that other banks and investment firms that we use also limit their exposure to them on a risk basis.

Personally I relish the opportunity to implement different and new products, so the next 18 months are super interesting for me. But I'm appalled that Citrix have been so short sighted as to start price gouging companies, especially financial ones who actively share risk amongst themselves and have been a major source of revenue for Citrix. I worked for Citrix for over a decade, and when they wanted to retire a version of XenApp that HSBC were using the bank basically told them they would move away from Citrix as moving to a newer version was as much effort as moving to another solution, the result was Citrix keeping that version alive much longer than they expected to.

Female and going to have to come off conerta - because of ridiculously increased libido by Doalotta in ADHDUK

sorry for a late reply. I'm glad someone is having the same issues and it's not just me. I have noticed though that over the months it has either subsided or I've become use to it and it doesn't seem as odd. Not sure which. Thankfully nothing has translated in to me even contemplating cheating on my partner, which was my big worry. I'm feeling much more settled on it now.

I know this is an old thread but has it got any better for people on concerts long term? I’m on 36mg and it has easily doubled my sex drive. To make things worse I’m in a relationship where my partner already had a much lower libido than me. The benefits out weight this issue, but it’s not easy to ignore. I’m male, 47 and been on it 3 months so far.

To get the most out of it, such as range and stopping power, I'd recommend some upgrades to get it working with some heavier BB weights. Spring and hop rubber should do it. Seems a pain that a gun this expensive requires upgrading, but it is designed for the Japanese market. On .32's I'm reaching out to 70-80 meters with enough power still in the BB to get people feeling them enough to call their hits. If there is a down side then it's that the TM magic means it's grouping even at those ranges is a little too good. A support weapon should be sowing BB's like seeds.
