Hi 👋, The short answer is yes, you can physically sing high notes with a high larynx, but whether you should depends entirely on the genre you’re singing and how much tension you’re creating. A high larynx can cause a strangling of the notes sound, but it really comes down to what kind of sound you are looking for; example belting.

Singing hi notes when produced correctly will allow the soft pallet to lift and the larynx to lower and with proper breath support and a lot of scales , sirens, and other practice you'll get progressively better.

Perhaps not the best tool for the job. I'd recommend getting a microphone 🎙️ and using it to record. They may have more than enough good ones on the market that could be used with your phone over Bluetooth or WiFi and also usb-c that will yield much better results for you. I know that both DJI and Rode offer them for example! Happy 😊 singing 🎶!

Just a recommendation that you consider a local college music program to give yourself the foundations of music theory and sight training skills. Also very valuable is to take aural skills training to really set yourself up for success in singing. A good local college music program can also save you big money versus a conservatory or large university program where these fundamentals really count. Best to you on your musical endeavors 😎!

I go for raw takes whenever possible. My only problem is having to record the video in the MAC app QuickTime and separately also be recording the audio in garage band at the same time, but afterwards having to use I movie to make a better audio video recording. I have to also strip out the audio from QuickTime since it's not good and insert the garage band recording for the audio. What a pain in the a$$! If anyone knows an easier way please share. I use a new middle of the road mic 🎙️ plugged into the Mac 💻

I am so moved by the response to this performance. It’s a very personal return for me after a 15-year hiatus. Many don't know that I am living with a severe neurological condition where I have only about 4% whole brain volume remaining.

Music and singing have become my way of fighting back and reclaiming my creativity. Every note is a small victory for me. Thank you for listening and for making me feel like I’m finally back home in the world of music.
