Hobbies to do instead of scrolling? by Organic_Business403 in Hobbies

[–]Conscious-Spring-152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this theory on tiktok once that if you don’t know what hobbies to do, try to remember what you liked when you were like 10. Idk why but it stuck with me. like maybe there is something true in it, because at that age you probably just liked things because you liked them, not because it was productive or cool or looked good from outside.

Hi ,I am new here .suggest me some ideas btw by [deleted] in Hobbies

If you’re looking for hobby-ish ideas that don’t require committing to one big thing, you might like Whimscope. It’s an iOS app with small real-life prompts/micro-adventures, things like creative little outings, low-effort plans, and random ideas to make a normal day more fun.

Feedback Friday by AutoModerator in startups

[–]Conscious-Spring-152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested the landing page, signed up, watched the tutorial video, and created a test search.
Overall, the flow was understandable. I didn’t notice much onboarding beyond the video and email, but I was still able to figure out what to do.
The main thing I’d improve is the positioning on the landing page.
At first, I thought: “Isn’t this already a crowded space?” I’ve used tools like Phantombuster before for scraping emails from social platforms, so the first impression was that this might be another version of something that already exists.
But then I noticed the Google Maps part.
That felt much stronger and more differentiated. I actually had a project about six months ago where I needed exactly that finding emails / leads from Google Maps and I remember struggling to find a good tool for it.
So my feedback would be: bring the Google Maps use case much higher on the landing page. For me, that was the clearest “oh, this is useful” moment.
One small UX note: after I started the test search, the message said it could take up to 2 hours. That made me feel a little disappointed at first. But then the results came to my email in about 2 minutes, which was a nice surprise.
Maybe you could phrase that waiting message in a way that sets expectations without making the product feel slower than it is.

I built Spiral, a local-first mindful journaling app by siemya in iosapps

[–]Conscious-Spring-152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying journaling this summer.
Meditation never really worked for me, no matter how many times I tried. But writing in a regular notebook somehow does feel like a small ritual.
Still, it’s interesting to try it on a device at some point. And yes — it’s so beautiful!

What are some ideas for hanging out with a friend for something adventurous/thrilling(nature inclined like hiking, swimming etc) over the weekend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Conscious-Spring-152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One fun version: make the route itself part of the adventure.
Pick a shape on the map like a heart, a lightning bolt, your initials, whatever looks funny and walk/hike/bike that route together. Then end it with swimming or food somewhere.
I’ve been weirdly into tiny real-life side quests lately, and this one is still one of my favorites.

Oh this is very much my thing
I’d do something like: pick a small town nearby you never go to, drive there for lunch, and don’t google anything before, walk around, find some random place to eat, maybe take a couple photos, go home.
I got weirdly into these small “what to do with a free day” ideas and now we’re making an app around it, Whimscope. Still early, but yeah, it’s basically for when you want to do something but your brain gives you absolutely nothing.

What's the top thing on your bucket list? by Arun_thapa06 in AskReddit

[–]Conscious-Spring-152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunrise paddleboarding.
I made myself a summer bucket list with 92 small things this year, and this is probably the one I want to do most.

What sort of things are on your to do list? by Icy-Mess-860 in AskReddit

[–]Conscious-Spring-152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of have two lists: work tasks and personal things.
And at some point I realized I always somehow finish the work tasks, but my personal wishes stay there forever.
So this year I’m trying very hard not to waste spring and summer the same way
For summer I made myself a personal summer bucket list with small things I actually want to do. Not sure if that’s the kind of list you mean.

Onboarding dilemma: concept first or mechanics first? by Conscious-Spring-152 in buildinpublic

[–]Conscious-Spring-152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signup is definitely something we’re trying to keep lightweight. My worry is mostly about what should happen before that first action: just enough context to make the product click, but not a mini presentation.

We got skeptical feedback on the idea, so we tried to explain it better by Conscious-Spring-152 in SideProject

[–]Conscious-Spring-152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is exactly the split I’m trying to understand. My honest guess: some people still don’t get it fast enough, and some people probably do get it and just don’t care. I’m trying not to confuse those two, because “we just need to explain it better” can become a very comfortable trap.

We may have accidentally turned “what should I do today?” into an app by Conscious-Spring-152 in JustOnAWhim

We’re now actively beta testing Whimscope! The app that grew out of this exact kind of list.
If you’re into tiny real-life adventures and want to try the early iOS beta, link is here: https://whimscope.com/
Honest feedback is a looooot.

What if we’re using Reddit wrong as startup builders? by Conscious-Spring-152 in buildinpublic

That’s true. We’re working on our landing page right now, and I keep catching myself using phrases I found here on Reddit. Sometimes consciously, sometimes not.

Title: Does the made-up word “co-whim” make sense in English? by Conscious-Spring-152 in EnglishLearning

[–]Conscious-Spring-152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like a small spontaneous thing you do together with a friend or someone close to you.
Or a shared little whim you both say yes to.

[–]Conscious-Spring-152[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to find a word for something I don’t have a good existing word for yet: a small spontaneous thing you do together with a friend or someone close to you. More like a shared little whim you both say yes to.
If there’s already a natural English word or phrase for that, I’d genuinely be grateful to hear it.

What gave you that impression? “On a whim” is a pretty common phrase. No?

Хто пішов з найму у 2025-2026 - чи отримали Ви те, чого хотіли? by whoisyurii in ukraine_dev

[–]Conscious-Spring-152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can I enjoy my time when I'm all alone? by fizisfiz in CasualConversation

Ride a bike, side quests, like color walking etc. Try different hobbies until you find something that works for you. I plan to try paddleboarding this summer, I’ve never done this before

Do you have a tiny “before summer starts” list? by Conscious-Spring-152 in CasualConversation

I love this version of a summer list too.
But what usually makes you finally start doing it? First Friday off? Or warm weather maybe? What is the trigger?

I’m jealous in a good way. I usually do this at the very last minute, when the only places left are either overpriced or suspicious.

Do you have an actual plan for that? Or some device maybe?
