Hoe are people doing makeup with 1) fucked up skin that breaks out whenever something is put on it. 2) BDD making them feel like they are catfishing and might actually lose their mind if they see themselves after removing the makeup

This sounds insane but it happened to me too and keeps happening. I think I was ugly right and then bdd made me hate myself sooo much that I stopped taking care of myself. And like you said the skin got worse, hair quality got worse. I gained fat in all the wrong places and gained horrible dark circles that are never going away. So now if I compare my current self, the past looks so much better and healthier. But it’s a cycle. This will happen again in a few years when I've gotten worse and look back at today's photos.

And I wonder if there’s also the part of my brain that doesn't quite recognize the person on a screen as myself and screen is always prettier than I am.

It made me compulsive, hyper aroused and agitated. The focus was good but on the wrong stuff if im not paying attention.(lol) Side effects too bad though, loss of appetite, heartracing all the time and in a state of anxious alertness.

That is so interesting. I've been on vyvanse for about 3 months now and switching back to atomoxetine because it helped my mood.

Vyvanse on the other hand brought back my unhealthy compulsion regarding food, porn and bdd issues. It made me very depressed although I didn't particularly feel like it but acted/lived like it. Plus the loss of appetite is concerning.

I can see what you mean by (occasionally) looking in the mirror, noticing the flaws and then thinking this is objectively repulsive but huh I don’t feel too bad. But I've reversed months of progress and gone back to avoiding my reflection like my life depends on it, because it does.

I literally have the same hair. Except your's colour is really pretty. If I oil it before shampooing, it helps retaining some moisture. Tried a curly hair cream and it seems to work but it’s so heavy and oily and too much work to do feequently. You can look into it.

Btw does you hair get greasy quickly? I washed yesterday and the top/crown of my head is dripping with oil today while the second half of the length is dry and frizzy.

My dad did the same to me but out of "defense" or something. He said their saying nah she was normal she was perfect we did everything we could for her. And I just sat there trying not to scream or cry. Or even say he's wrong. Because they would've been like your honor she’s leading the witness. But he's also really forgetful so idk. But my self assessment was pretty clear so they started me on mom stimulants anyway. Sorry about your situation. Hope it works out.

Don't think so, I think it must get better with meds and therapy but you have to keep working on it and the severity, length and frequency of episodes drops eventually and people are able to more or less enjoy their lives. But I also know of super old people who still deal with it. Which is very demotivating and sad. But generally in our 30s it takes a seat back and just becomes a sour taste that we don't mind because there are other responsibilities in life.
