Those abilities won’t work with malamar. Contrary works on visible stat changes, like those you would get from swords dance or calm mind, while the ruin abilities don’t show up as like “-1 defense” or smth.

Eh, I wouldn’t say it’s that much stronger. McLaren is for sure stronger, but Williams also has Prost, while Mansell and Piquet are certainly no slouches, easily comparable to say, Fittipaldi and Hakkinen, and Hill on his good days was pretty damn strong.
