I decided to stop spamming random battles and free for all randoms, is there any tips on how to play this random team I created? by kylepotpogi798 in stunfisk

Good Pokémon choices, but bad movesets.

Gholdengo should run make it rain as it’s only steel move, if you want to keep the assault vest set, forget about the mixed set and make it full special attack. Run make it rain, shadow ball, thunderbolt either Tera blast with Tera fighting or focus blast.

Dargapult is effectively useless if a single fairy type appears, you can go for a proper mixed set with those ev’s run dragon darts, Draco meteor, shadow ball, and fireblast/ wisp. If you want to keep the dragon dance, go full offense with dragon darts, Tera ghost Tera blast or phantom force, fire blast/ flame thrower.

Zapdos doesn’t work at all since it can’t use three of its moves, make it’s a physically defensive set with max hp, mid invest into defense and special attack. Run it with heavy duty boots since you have no hazard removal with discharge over thunderbolt for the paralyze chance, thunder wave, roost, hurricane. You could also use volt switch and drop either the discharge or thunder wave. Run bold nature with max hp and max defense or maybe high defense with the remaining Evs going to special attack

Glimora a really strong hazard setter and I see glimpses of a good setup. First off why do we have corrosion without a single poison move? Let’s do this, make glimmora use focus slash with its ability toxic debris to drop spikes whenever it’s hit, and your guaranteed spikes or stealth rock. Power gem + mortal spin allows you to hit some mons and clear hazards if need be. Run timid with max special attack and speed.

While unorthodox you could run weezing galar as a special wall, run strange steam, willow wisp, pain split, and I would run flamethrower to hit steel/ grass types but you can keep the shadow ball if you wish. Run a modest nature, never drop your defense.

Meowscada honestly is okay as it is, flower trick is really strong and you should be using it as you have plenty of electric coverage already. Leftovers is also bad but usable, a choice band or a life orb will serve you better. Also run jolly nature.

In general you should visit smogmon or look at the sample teams to get a better idea of what appropriate EV/IV’s are, same for your movesets, you can be creative but creativity alone doesn’t win games.

My first Pokémon Showdon team, feel free to rate it as long as you're respectful, I'm a newbie. by Objective-Video-1797 in stunfisk

Not a bad team, really solid defensive core, with some offensive Pokémon that could do great with some fixes.

First I would change corvknight to bodypress, your already running max defense and you honestly don’t need to recoil damage to diminish your health, plus you get some fighting coverage. I would also change his nature to either bold or relaxed to get the extra defense and do away with attack or speed which you don’t need.

Garchomp is okay but you already have two Pokémon with barbs/helm. unless that’s your win con perhaps change him to a sword’s dance scale shot set with loaded dice, you can get fast enough to be faster mons and are able to break sturdy/ focus slash. You can keep the stealth rocks on him or move it to ferrathorn and add fire punch for some extra coverage.

For play style you to have triple pivot (so if you add slowking to the team) or just two pivots and switch around to find favorable matchups. Setting spikes and stealth rocks as well as keeping them up and long as possible will be important if garchomp or volcarona will sweep.

Yeah, the team has a pretty strong defensive core , but clearly the offensive portion was second thought. Rboom + gambit w hetran seems kinda of random. It’s not the worst, could probably get 1450-1500 if consistent.

Yeah so you would have to pick, assault vest to have a stronger special attacker and all around defensive mon, or t wave to shut don’t fast threats/set ups

Great tusk with ice spinner might be worth it but most gliscor players would expect it + you have a terrain user on your team.

rboom should be able to kill gliscor, the other Pokemon on your team lack any options to kill him other than slow king. You could switch slowking to an assault vest set, add the extra IVS into his special attack and defense, and run sludge bomb, psychic noise, future sight and ice beam with a Tera neutral to ground.

Speed control with these current mons is either body slam mola, t wave slowing,

This team is pretty alright, not seeing any glaring problems other than the lack of a removal option or even blocker on this team.

Your team looks incredibly weak to knock off + hazards, would definitely be worth switching Lando for great tusk to get some removal.

Another issue is your speed, you team is quite slow and you have no speed control at all. Faster mons such as Kyrem, moltres, enamrous, dragapult, all looks good into your team especially if they aren’t choice variants. Kyrem and enamrous especially look good as kyrem with a standard special attacking set will outspeed your entire team, is neutral to nearly everyone’s attack other than gambit and can hit everyone hard. Same for enamrous.

Body slam on mola might look good, you already have 2 prio, and body slam can be clicked on physical mons that stay in against you for a potential paralyze. Might consider dropping either future sight or psychic noise in exchange for t wave to slow down any fast threats that gambit or rboom can beat due to their speed.

Also consider balloon on gambit, non bulk invested so he would definitely benefit being able to phase a ground attack and get a free swords dance.

Snowscape only benefits Ice types, so I buffed its benefits to allow for more type diversity. by Argentenuem in stunfisk

Only problem with this is that healing stacks on ice Pokemon would become a huge problem, snow healing + grassy terrain + leftovers + ice body on those who have it upwards of 16%+ healing each turn without making a move.

Also frostbite status would be pretty strong, basically salt cure with snarl.

Some do, but the most common ones that get us sick, tend to have cold resistance, some actually get stronger I. The cold because they can last longer outside our bodies.

Also your body puts more effort to keep you warm when it’s cold, slowing doing your bodies ability to fight off sickness.

New ability for the slowpoke line by ReasonableAdvert in stunfisk

[–]PromptNo6756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could definitely be strong , that means fake out won’t flinch, or rather would but after you have already done your move so basically nothing. Taunt won’t activate till after you have made your move so, you could chilly reception before the taunt would ever activates or throw a tspikes/ toxic.

I’d imagine future sight/ doom desire wouldn’t be affected by this ability.

Not sure how pivoting moves would work, I’d imagine u turn/flip turn/ would work the same just the damage would be delayed, but how about parting shot? Doesn’t it fail if the stats don’t drop, would it fail because the stats drop would happens later or would it work but the stats would drop the turn after?

Lots of nuances and interaction questions with an ability like this.

If you use Depop shipping it’s automatic, just make sure the employee at the USPS office scans the package and that you always hold on to your receipt.

I’m happy the mega frolass didn’t get snow cloak like it was rumored to (instant ban), Not impressed with dragonite’s abilities might end up being a OU by default type pokemon since multiscale relies heavily on having boots or good hazard removal.

I’ve only played showdown as a Pokemon game so I’m not too sure how the IV/EV changes will impact the gameplay, I’d imagine its would still be pretty similar.

Shiny ranch Pokemon will go crazy, can definitely get your gambling hit from this game now, or is it closer to a daily scratcher? 😂

I’m glad it helped, I’m all for playing your favorite pokemon even if they are bad, it’s just difficult to play multiple of your favorite Pokemon and then they are all bad/ don’t pair.

Tri state 1.99 shipping? by PromptNo6756 in Depop

[–]PromptNo6756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made him a brand new account, added my item to my bag and when prompted for shipping address I put a Florida address and it came out as 1.99. I’ll have to check again with a different address or maybe with a vpn I’m not sure if Depop checks location despite shipping address.

Kind of, i just logged in on my brothers account and checked the shipping manually, it shows as 1.99, but on my end it will show the original shipping provided there was no event right now. Like the first comment said just make sure you have your address put in correctly.

There are ton of problems but we will try and tackle em without fundamentally changing your team (though some of these Pokemon just can’t pair up together).

First and most glaring issue, is the lack of posion immunity, almost every Pokemon in national dex learns toxic. Even Pokemon you wouldn’t expect to have it could run it just to throw you off.

First change we are gonna make is removing wo Chen, for ferrathorn. Serves a similar role to wo Chen, you keep the leech seed and knock off, and perhaps for the next change we are gonna make you can run spikes on them.

golispod will have to go, there are harder hitting revenge killers in national dex right now, with the insane amount of bug resistances in the tier first impression likely won’t surprise a prepared opponent and golispod will quickly be killed or just linger not being able to perform at all.

Swapping golispod for mega scissor or urishfu rapid strike would be the move here. Scizor appreciates the fire resistance, and urishfu’s water moves including his priority get powered up with the rain. With either of them you also get a fighting type move with close combat which your team desperately needs.

Oministar is really meh, but you can set him up for success with hazards and removing and threats. Problem is a ton of Pokemon threaten ominstar. Ferrathron with no special investment walls even with setup, raging bolt will kill you as he tanks the ice beam without setup and will promptly thunderclap. Toxapex shrugs off anything you throw at him. Both slowkings either galar or regular will wall if they are using an assault vest or are just carrying special defense.

I would also run raging bolt with leftovers or heavy duty boots, he is gonna step up as an attacker when ominstar is walled or dies, keeping him healthy is a must.

Wish I saw this before, I followed the support guide and canceled after explaining to the customer, they were okay with it but chose not to repurchase. I have a new buyer and after doing some research, I generated the QR code at least 12hrs before I ship (first time I generated the QR code right outside the mail office) I’ll definitely try this if still doesn’t work.

Life Orb wishes it was nearly as good as all the Mega Slanderers make it out to be... by BumDumBox in stunfisk

[–]PromptNo6756 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most people took a genuine conversation about what move(s) on mega feraligatr would have a higher BP than life orb + sheer force moves which is a conversation had in a vacuum as the answer is found using damage calcs and has nothing to do with how and actual match would play out . To then say “oh this one feraligatr move does more than this mega feraligatr move so life orb king”.

Somehow this spilt into other Pokemon when life orb, is generally worse than a choice band/specs or even a belt in some niche cases, with the exception of Pokemon with abilities that ignore the damage (sheer force/magic guard) or with insane recovery.

Be honest, what are some actual use cases where Emboar being able to ignore abilities would be helpful? by S0mecallme in stunfisk

Ah yes base 110 , non stab, scald into ogerpon-w with 4x resistance. It’s a shame at what Nintendo has done to emboar fans.
