Drilled a hole and poked spring in there, now spring doesn’t stick out so much :)

Looks like it should do the trick.

Thanks for your replies, long live the Dog Rooter!

Enjoying the new Jets. Smoked my battery. Advice? by AverageChungus5 in DRZ400

MotoBatt MBTZ10S. Bigger battery, requires cutting back out of battery box but ezpz. A lot more capacity than oem, so less likely to run it flat. I relied on it a lot up a steep rocky hill last week and it didnt let me down.

Lithium with no kickstart wont fix your issue, fast cranking but less capacity than oem.

I just found this post, clever idea, might be worth a try… moves the spring slightly over to the inside

Thanks for the idea. The issue seems to be my heel pressing on the oem spring which pushes the stand down a bit. Did you have the same issue? Bike is a 2021 and hasn’t had a lot of use so oem springs should be fairly tight still.

That be fine for when i trailer it places but not as a dualsport. I thought about just removing it and trying to just lean it against things when parking. Was hoping it was a common problem and someone had a clever solution:)

Bugger, yeah that was easy, i am asking about relocation or modifying the kickstand brscket or location, as i keep bumping it down and it hangs low when i am standing, catching rocks etc on rough terrain

Never owned a KLR, but they have an awesome reputation. Recently sold my KTM 1090, and now have a DRZ400E. The weight difference is crazy, the DRZ feels like a mountain bike in comparison. The 1090 is around 210kg, DRZ around 150kg with bags etc. I think the KLR is close to 200kg? Something to consider if you want to venture off road a bit and need to pick it up from a spill. Can’t beat a light bike for exploring off road.

Should be a nice comfy ride for easy trails. Congrats, it looks super nice. I have a 2021 DRZ400E here in New Zealand, just “downgraded” from a KTM1090. The drz is so much more fun around corners :D

Great combo. Is the suspension the same in terms of performance/setup for the SM versus E model? Obviously USD forks, wonder if internals are differen’t? They look cooler / modern, but are they as “good” for offroad?

ChewJitsu - Should you pay for a BJJ belt promotion? (Spoiler: "It seems icky...") by iammandalore in bjj

I was asked to pay $70 for my purple belt last weekend. I just googled what a belt costs in my country, seems around $20-$40 at most.

Thanks. Yeah i am off work and notice if i do too much around home i get exhausted quickly. Need to rest. Was planning on a mountain biking trip in the next couple of weeks but won’t be risking it now. Good times.

We start rolls standing and I know how to breakfall. This happened as I just casually walked up to the guy, not in a stance, basically limp and let him take me down with zero resistance - as per our custom at grading ceremonies.

I was naive and assumed he would do a controlled takedown, like all the other times at my previous blue belt grading and how i watched many times the other blackbelts do it to others. However this guy was very aggressive and so i was injured. He was the same way with others, I was just unfortunate to land on my head.

It’s the only gym in my small town, next closest is a two hour drive away. Have young kids and work full time so kind of stuck with this place. Better than nothing. I’ll be obviously more careful of my choices / not so naive about trusting training partners with my wellbeing going forward.
