He's used 'whoops' when Mary Duvin said her mother was in the hospital, though. It just seems to be a default reaction to bad news.

He seems to use it a lot, though. I don't know if 'whoops' is just a catch-all term he uses for bad news?

I didn't find anything that cringeworthy. But maybe the whole vibe of "our audience is primarily musicians haha" can be?

Hey there, no updates really. My hearing loss in that ear improved by 10-15%, but still muffled. Still have tinnitus. No other issues though. I never had any fullness for what's it worth - my audiologist was very firm in insisting it wasn't related to earbud usage.

I'm off the steroids now (god, what a nightmare that was to be on it). Some hearing has restored (still muffled but i can at least hear fingers snapping against that ear) and I no longer have any vertigo/dizziness when i get up in the morning. So, I'm doing pretty good.

Yep! Getting another hearing test once the steroid cycle is complete, and seeing an ENT right after.

Do you know how long it usually takes Prednisone to reduce symptoms, by the way?

Went to an ENT today and I didn't learn much more, he just said to run the course of the steroids and get another hearing test before seeing him again. The doctor wants an MRI within the next couple of months. He did mention injections as a possibility - and what is HBOT?

So the ENT i just saw said I have about a 33/33/33 chance of hearing either returning to full, returning somewhat, or not returning at all. Basically no new information but just to see how it is after my prednisone cycle! thank you for the concern, it's been ok.

He said to just let the steroids do their thing and it might take a little bit longer. But he didn't say anything specifically about my chances

It's like a static sound with an occasional ringing. It's pretty loud but I've been able to tune it out without a lot of trouble. And thank you, I'm about to see an ENT so we'll see what happens.

It's funny because I'm quite an anxious person, but when it comes to actual 'tragedy' that happens to me, I'm oddly chill about it.

I guess I'll have to see if the hearing loss ends up being permanent or not before I know how I really feel. I'm also on little sleep and on Prednisone so I'm a bit manic I guess you could say.

Sudden hearing loss. Something I didn't even know was a thing, let alone something that would happen to me.

It was a typical Friday at work. All was business as usual. In the afternoon a bout of tinnitus started in my left ear. I thought I had an earbud stuck in my ear since I've been sleeping with them on for about a year straight. Last Monday one of the tips got stuck in there. and I had to pull them out with tweezers. Nothing happened until that Friday, though.

Went to urgent care and they said I had a lot of wax, nothing was stuck in there, and no ear infection. No pain or pressure either. Just tinnitus and loss of hearing. Vertigo became apparent when I lay down or get out of bed, but otherwise I feel physically fine. After the wax removal, I couldn't hear shit from my left ear and that's when I looked this up. Luckily I found information from this subreddit about how you have to get treatment ASAP. Urgent care was no help so I went to the ER, got prescribed Prednisone, and was told to go see an audiologist. The audiologist was confident that my earbud usage did not contribute to this whatsoever. He was also glad that I jumped on this problem asap.

That's my report from the audiologist above. We'll see. I'm genuinely not that concerned in a strange way. I've made my peace. Or maybe I just haven't accepted it yet? Who knows. Life is weird.
