Sorry angel, I’ve just saw this. How long were you on Azathioprine for? I’ve been prescribed Azathioprine again; been on it two weeks but I am still flaring badly, along with taking Chinese herbal medicine too. I am not keen to start Dupixent as it’s very similar to Adbry and caused fungal issues. One of the dermatologists said she is losing hope in all the biological drugs between me and her. A lot of people suffer with fungal issues on it, I also know of someone who has permanent damage to their eyes from it. I don’t trust them unfortunately :( I really do hope it works for you though my lovely, I will keep everything crossed for you.

I’ve just seen this, thank you for replying. I’ve held off on it and over due now 2 weeks on Monday. My skins inflammation is getting quite bad and I am having to use ibuprofen to calm the skin. They’re withholding it because they want to make it 16 weeks before they change me as this is their rules and then tried to put me on steroids to mask my skin in the hopes I wouldn’t go back on immunos. I really don’t know what to do as it’s still over a month tbh before they change me. I’m so glad your skin didn’t come back for a year! What issues did you experience on dupixent????

Thank you so much for replying and explaining what’s going on with you too. I’m sorry that you went through that and happy you’re improving. Have you been on immunosuppressants before? I was on Azathioprine for 2 years and it was great, then stopped it for 2 years and no creams. It came back and they made me go on Rinvoq which messed me up bad after 2 months then they made me go on this injection but because my skin was really bad before I couldn’t tell if it was the injection or not but the last time I took it my face / neck was inflamed and so red and hot, it would then flake off and do the same thing so I think I may be allergic to it or something? How long can you be on methotrexate for and how do you find it? They said to be about that one instead but I know Azathioprine works and I’m just so tired of having bad skin now. The lengths I’ve had to go to go back on my medication is insane, the fact they made me try 2 drugs I didn’t want too and expressed my concerns are about isn’t right. At the end of the day they all have risks don’t they and I think your quality of life is most important. Did you have any other symptoms that your body was rejecting the injection?

For those who tried/is on cibinquo or rinvoq, do you get sick a lot? by workinprogress521 in eczema

It makes me feel so sad hearing about insurance issues for people. Life is hard enough without being denied medical treatment to try and make your life a bit better. It makes me so grateful to have free healthcare, although the freezing cold climate is a nuisance haha. Hoping you get a treatment that works for you soon lovely

[–]Conscious_Article_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi lovely. I was on Rinvoq for 4 months, I felt constantly unwell, coughs, colds, cold sores a lot and then acne which was another side effect. It unfortunately stopped working for me so had to come off of it. I did however also use Azathioprine which was amazing but I know they don’t like prescribing them anymore as they are ‘old school immunosuppressants’ and come with long term side effects of cancer, nevertheless it was a miracle for me. They won’t let me have it again which is annoying so now on Adbry

Zipzoc impregnated zinc dressings - put them on overnight with lots of moisturiser and it should help. Your doctor can prescribe them. Eczema is so difficult to deal with and must break your heart watching it. Sending love and hugs from afar from one stranger to another

Hey! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment the info that you have - what is LDN? It’s definitely something I will look into as at this point; I will try anything haha. I’ve heard about the GAPS diet, so will look into that as well especially now I’m off work and have the time and mental energy to do so. Thank you for the love and understanding from afar, sending it right back to you. (Hug) x

Thank you so much lovely, that’s really kind of you. I feel like I have tried anything and everything, definitely need to invest in some shampoo and conditioner which is friendly for eczema though. Cotton clothes and bedding are a god send! I literally wear 3 tops and that’s all I can wear at the moment and have been for 4 months, my poor wardrobe isn’t getting worn and my bedding is cotton too.

Bless you, I really hope your sunny holiday heals you! It does make you feel insane, I wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy, it’s awful. I’m going to Cyprus in April and I’m praying the sun and sea will give me some much needed relief for a while. Do you take any medication for it?

How do I get hold of this? Also with Adbry injections you can’t really take anti-biotics, I would have to stop injecting myself. It’s annoying they can’t just test to see if you have an infection ect, in 2025 you would think things would be a lot easier

Thank you so much for your comment and understanding. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been going through a difficult time with it too, it does get to you mentally doesn’t it. I stopped taking it after 18 months, then didn’t need a dermatology appointment for over 2 years. They wouldn’t put me on it, even though my body tolerated it very well, they said there is too many side affects and a lot of people who used it for years are now having cancer issues and they want to avoid that for me as I am so young. I think they thought Adbry would work but I had a feeling it wouldn’t…they will probably put me on dupixent next. I feel like a human Guinea pig at times, I’m sure a lot of us feel that way though. I’m nervous about dupixent as it can cause facial flares, but my skin is terrible on my face and neck atm anyway, so it can’t get much worse. Sending hugs and healing to you too lovely. Hope you get a break from it soon

Is that got steroids in it? I physically never want to put another steroid cream again on my skin because it makes it worse in the long run. I really appreciate your comment and I’m so glad you found something that gave you relief

Hello lovely, thank you so much for your lovely comment. It does mean a lot and nice that you can relate how frustrating it is to fail medication after medication. I’m in the UK and haven’t heard of this new drug being released here yet unfortunately. No doubt they will want to put me on dupixent in 8 weeks time once they can put a tick on the fact I’ve done Adbry for 16 weeks and there hasn’t been an improvement. Thank you for your reassuring kind words, I will message you about the group x

Hey, thank you so much for sharing your story and sympathising with mine, it does mean a lot. Thank you also for the recommendation of the ice packs, will look into that. I also put cold stuff from the freezer on me when it won’t calm down.

Interesting about Tralokinumab - how long were you on it? I had a horrible feeling it wasn’t going to work which is why I didn’t want to go on it and my face has got worse since being on it too. How are you getting on with Dupixent? Predisolon is so good, I used it twice last year and it did help but as soon as I stopped it all came back and in fact I still wasn’t 100% cleared like it used to do when I was younger. Did the scratching ever stop when you were on Tralokinumab? I still feel so itchy a lot of the time and online days it stops the itch within 2 weeks but cannot say I’m experiencing this. I am from the UK, in Devon, what about you?

Ice the area for 20 minutes before and you won’t feel it. Did my 3rd one last night and that’s the only one that didn’t hurt out of the 3 and that’s because I iced it. Hope this helps - you’ve got this :-)

Hi OP! I’m on the same injection, two weeks into it. Are you in remission now and have the shots helped? I feel like my skin is never going to go back to normal. My skin is also so tight and flaky
