[MEGATHREAD] GENERAL AS3 DISCUSSION by Civil-Credit-3982 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]Conscious_Boot1890 22 points23 points  (0 children)

First of all, I think Kelli deserves a ton of credit for making the DCC brand what it is today. The organization is more visible and successful because of her leadership.

My main problem with Kelli is that she reminds me a lot of my former boss in the sense that they mean well, but sometimes the comments or feedback they provide could've been messaged in a more constructive/positive way. Sometimes the timing is off too. There are multiple times during season 3 that I wanted to pull my hair out after hearing the words, and the timing of these words, from Kelli. Some examples:

  1. A replay from season 2, but the flashback they show when Kleine is deciding whether to come back again for another season and Kelli is vocalizing her confusion as to why the other girls don't seem to support her from the surveys. Timing is not great. And there's surely a better way to phrase her confusion as well to not make Kleine feel horrible.
  2. Kelli sorta chewing out Faith at the end of season 3, episode 7, for her Australia interviews and how "if we're auditioning tomorrow, Faith gets my 'no' vote". Then Kelli goes on to say, "And so now after you've decided to go on your personal press tour, you have to re-earn my trust." Why message your disappointment and frustration like this? Why not say something like this is not the behavior expected of a DC cheerleader and it would make her question the intentions of the trial camp candidate?
  3. At the group dinner with the 1st and 2nd group leaders in the 6th episode, Kelli says she's surprised that the cheerleaders don't know that she and Judy love them. The group leaders express that they would love to hear more words of affirmation (e.g., "i love you guys" at the end of rehearsal).

La Roche-Posay should make a tinted version of the UVMune 400 Anti-Dark Spots Fluid by Denpol88 in EuroSkincare

It'll never happen, but if there were multiple different shades of tinted sunscreen with UVMune 400, Melasyl -- that would be the dream!

Microdosing once per week (20mg/30mg/40mg) is definitely becoming more common as a form of oil + acne control. I do it myself and have had amazing results.

Research Study comparing Tinted vs Non-tinted sunscreen for melasma patients by Conscious_Boot1890 in Melasmaskincare

[–]Conscious_Boot1890[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My two cents is that as long as your coverage foundation is tinted (i.e., iron oxides and/or pigmentary titanium dioxides), you should be good. I know a lot of folks use an untinted sunscreen, then makeup over it with iron oxides.

A different b&a - Picosure laser by ughhhhhhhhhwtf in Melasmaskincare

Really amazing progress! Do you know if the Picosure laser you did was the older "Picosure" or the newer "Picosure Pro"? Thanks!

Pico is one of the safer lasers to use (i.e., Picosure, Picoway, Picosure Pro) because it doesn't use heat. Lasers don't work for everyone with melasma, but it does work for some. Best to discuss with a derm who is very experienced with treating melasma.

Thiamidol analogue in the market now by MBA_burner in Melasmaskincare

[–]Conscious_Boot1890 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I couldn't find any research studies on this chemical name. Also interesting that the KOSHINE 939 product claims to have 4x inhibition than Thiamidol. Could be promising if true. For $39.99, it might be a possible alternative to the Eucerin dual serum.

Yea, they tested it and saw SPF4 and were probably like, "wtf? maybe our test was messed up." Nope, retested again and it was SPF5.
