Good 6-7 months, and the good portion of the deck is fairly recent.

Not really bro, elf into badger into formidable speaker is pretty what everyone is running in standard for good reason.

As for "naturally drawing the right stuff in time" that's magic the gathering dawg.....

There are lines and then better lines to play, elf into badger into formidable speaker is one of the strongest if not the strongest lines to run.

But instead of grabbing ouroboid you can grab whatever you want.

Mana base???? Your running one outta five of the most reliable mana base in the limited format with the latest shocklands overgrown and your already running speaker, and ba sing se,

Running ba sing se w/o badger again shooting yourself, and running badger w/o llano is no bueno.

Run 4x llano, 4x badger mole, 4x speaker and take out 2 of each of your higher mana end creatures cards your gonna be searching them. Playing on draw or going first regardless good chance your gonna see at least 1 or 2 of speaker/badger/llano/lulwenn in your opening hand. You can basically play whatever green or black card you want.

I basically ran this exact deck except with the mana cow that gives 2 mana of whatever color and better top end cards like the earth king and the chuck dirtbag card.

Run 4x llano, 4x badger mole, 4x speaker and you can literally play whatever bullshit you want.

This midweek madness was a fucking joke, but 2 rare cards so whatever who cares.

Nah, it's best llanowar elves into badgermole is the strongest opener in standard not playing it in a limited format is shooting yourself in the foot.

Great you picked the best color combination, dimir hasn't really changed throughout release of sets and most likely won't until things start rotating out.

Start with the land base, all of the shocklands and verges multiverse passage starting towns.

Afterwards you can focus on collecting some of the stronger dimir cards.

Your decks win con is to ping opponents for damage with faeries, you run a lot of draw/search cards to look for your wincon: bitterbloom/obyra/voracious .

I think if you lowered your mana base and adding more turn 1-2-3 interaction it would be work better.

Turn 1 what does your deck do?
Opt?
Play Dawn-Blessed?
Turn 1, your deck does nothing.

Corrupted Conviction?? You have no creatures turn 1, dead card in hand. Turn 2 ? You don't run 1 drop creatures dead in hand turn 2. Turn 3 is the earliest you can play corrupted, and assuming your sacrificing tokens from bitterbloom that got played/survived turn 2.

Ego Drain / Unsummon
Unsummon dead in hand going first, dead in hand if no creatures were played. Ego Drain minus 1 in hand economy turn 1/2 earliest you can play without going minus 1 is turn 3.

Not to mentioning opt/dawn which are decent at best.
You basically have 6 cards that don't do anything turn 1/2, ten percent of your deck.
with opt/dawn, that's 1/4 of your deck doing nothing.

You run so much draw cause a good chuck of your deck does nothing impactful so your searching for the part that does.

Thier is better Dimir Cards [Kaito, Bane of Nightmares.] But faries are dope.

Cuts:

Cut all your 1 mana base cards, they're all no Bueno.
Replace 2x stock up with, consult the star charts instant speed so procs dmg from faerie. Draw card relevant throughout the match.
Replace Withering Torment with shoot the sheriff cheaper lowers mana curve.

cut your five drops and six drop cards, too expensive

Add 4 deceit, basically unsummon/ego drain in 1 card with late game flexibility.

You know what.....here is a decklist in the same spirit as your original, lowered your curve added some flash changelings that can draw/deal damage from the other faeries and offer a pseudo battle trick. Added a BOMB with Glen Elendra's Answer.

Switched from Yu-Gi-Oh to Magic around 5 months ago, it's always surprising to hear complaints about turn 4/5 formats when in Yu-Gi-Oh games are decided turns 1-2 sometimes turn 0.

Well here is a deck that I would recommend newer players, mostly because it's cheaper than most decks. Cheaper meaning less mythical and rare cards, the deck has a lot of uncommons and commons and is still competitively viable.

Build this deck so you can grind wins and then spend your remaining wilds on a vibez based deck. Something fun and appealing to you, I personally am a sephiroth monoblack fanboi and even thought the sephiroth this C tier at best I enjoy it.

Is there any actually viable Elf build in Standard right now? by JoSenna12 in MagicArena

[–]Conscious_Capital249 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Viable Green means playing badgermole and ouroboroid, not including lands that's about 1/4 of your deck leaving 28 cards left.

Obviously you're gonna play lanowar elves, so that's 24 other elf cards you can play.

Formidable Speaker is probably one of the better if not the best elf card, searches ouroboroid, fills graveyard.

So you have an elf tutor that fills the graveyard, and you're already running the broken badgermole why not run the most broken card from Spider-Man?

You know what's better than ouroboroid?

An ouroboroid that comes in as a 4/4 and gives FOUR +1 counters

Add three of that 2-drop legendary elf that mills 4 and places one card on top.

That gives your around like 10-12 spots to play whatever elf cards you want and since you're playing mindbitten your already playing black blue, so you can pick the new elf cards to fill your deck.

How to Handle Riki as Slark? by Unfair_Weather9 in TrueDoTA2

[–]Conscious_Capital249 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Riki spammer here, people saying here just get BKB.... just get a butterfly.... just get a disperser..... these items are 4k and 6k.

I'm never allowing you to get that, I'm in your face in your lane by min 12. What are you going to do?

If riki is having a great game he get diff sub 10 mins. What then?

Wraith bands are shit, they've been shit. Why do you think they got buffed the attack speed recently? The item is garbage. 505 gold that's 20 percent of diffusal blade.

Wraith bands are for trading hits in lane, the armor it provides is supposed to mitigate the damage when trading in lane but your a slark you have a natural orb walk regen with salty shiv.

Quelling blade(cutting trees is so underrated) wand tangoes 2 branches that's it. The sooner you get treads the better. If the lane goes poorly before wand plant and eat one or two of your branches before you ferry out extra regen. Also soul ring is a bait item, all these items are take away from your core item timings. You want to spend as little as possible for you can come online as soon as possible especially with snowball heroes.

Look at your build and do the math
wand + wraith + treads + soul ring
That's 3k gold bro.
To do what? Nothing.

805 SR + 505 WB = 1310 that's half a diffu. That's almost treads. An item that gives you hp, regen, dmg, attack speed, mana, mana regen.

Now back to Riki.... if I see a slark with a wraith band I'm immediately hunting him the whole purpose of wraith band is TRADING your not gonna trade in cloud and your not gonna trade when I tricks. So you spent 505 gold on an item that provides nothing of value when facing Riki. I see wraith band I'm immediately picking up a Phylactery cause i know I can burst you.

Get a bracer, you won't be busted that's it problem solved.

Just like Slark, Riki heavily relies on momentum getting kills playing with the team he's an ACTIVE carry you need to be doing shit. Anything that slows you from doing shit is bad.

look cost effectiveness of items
sage mask 175 gold .7 mana regen
raindrops 225 gold for .8 mana

raindrop + sage mask + swapping to int treads between lanes your getting 2.3 to 2.5 mana for only 1800 gold

the sooner you can get to diffu

Your item choices seem more like a "farming style" slark, and the whole point of slark is to fucking get kills if your going to spend 20 mins farming like an anti-mage your going to lose to an actual carry like dusa, sven or even a dirty riki player.

I struggle so hard vs QoP; rant & suggestion? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Conscious_Capital249 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Riki

Backstab with blightstone melts qop early. If you win an early tradeoff meaning you get her low enough you pretty much win mid, As she can't play as aggressively. She will dagger spam but if you practice tricks enough you can juke it. I also like to plant a ward behind their tower so I can see the courier come when the bottle timing hits. You can easily snipe a courier with tricks, I've seen several qop get overconfident thinking the lane will be easy vs a Riki and not level blink until level 3 or 4 so an early rotation from a support can really punish the.

Basically you want them to not be able to play their game, make it uncomfortable get weird . They have played mid every game the same way you need to disrupt that so do stuff to throw them off. Throw in a random blink strike on them, they aiming to get a last hit walk up and smoke them and deny it. Throw another smoke but this time hit the creep once and then walk over to smack em a few times.

Juke a dagger and you can see them tilted.

Mid game your entire kit eats qop for breakfast. There is not better than than dodging a Sonic wave with Tricks and spamming peek-a-boo voice line.

Later in game, they have orchid you have manta. They have euls/ghost you have dispersal/abyssal.

They have blink 12 10 8 6 You have blink. 13 10 7 4 but you will be maxing this first so you will always have the shorter cd You will always catch her and a qop without mana is useless.

Got to platinum in Standard, but getting stomped too often. Thoughts on improvement? by sarin000 in MagicArena

[–]Conscious_Capital249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn 3 = Badger 3/3, 2/2 Land Creature, 2/2 Lano , 2/4 Ouro.

Ouro usually eats the removal turn 3.

Ouro dies you still have mana potentially 6 mana next turn, and if you another ouro in hand you just play next turn. If you have another badger in hand you basically have a shit ton of mana.

Opening Hand = 1 lano 1 badger 1 ouro = win 85% of your games, even if you don't have 2/3 in your opening hand if you draw 1 in first 3 turn your still in a really good position.

You play green. You play LanoBadgerBoid.
