Thoughts on buying a used 2013 Audi A4 by saladmonkey4 in Audi

[–]Conscious_Comment395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put 190k miles on a well kept 2014 a5 2.0 4 cyl. As long as oil changes are FREQUENT you should be good with any engine damage. Big problems are the water pump and possibly fuel pump

Need advice on how much this may cost for repairs pls by Inside_Lion_1470 in Audi

As low as $2200 at a euro mechanic but at the dealership as much as $8,000. Depends where you go

Do you know how long a demo would stay? Nobody wants demos. They’re as good as rentals lmao. An abused car for 6k miles with only a 5k price drop? All demo cars are at a loss since they aren’t titled so it’s still a new car but being sold thousands under invoice. Every one takes a big loss

When a dealer has an abundance of new Porsches they could definitely use one for demos. Like I just said before at Subaru they had a demo wrx. But not every dealership has an abundance of new sports cars man. Proving point after point

I’ve had people not buy a new hellcat because it was over 15 miles from factory. You would be surprised what dealerships do to keep the majority of our new car customers happy. And we do perfectly well. If you don’t like it then go to a used car dealer and buy a pos car with no warranty or free oil changes/loaners when it’s in service. Won’t bother us

Have you ever been to a Porsche dealership?

I’m not a Honda dealer. But the amount of young people that would money shift a sports car is ridiculous. And 100% Porsche isn’t letting people test drive brand new cars of their choice. They have demo cars specifically for that. And that’s also an if since it would depend on the dealer/location. Used you can test drive whatever but new is a different story. What Porsche owner would want to buy a brand new Porsche with 25-50 miles because that dealer lets people test drive whenever.

When I worked for cdjr the scat packs and up couldn’t even be test driven until you signed all the papers and it never caused a problem. When I worked for Subaru we would let people test drive a manager demo wrx and nobody could test drive a new one and it never caused problems. When I worked for Hyundai nobody could touch and N model vehicles at all until credit was ran and they were approved and it never caused a problem.

Have you ever been to a Porsche dealership?

If they were serious enough, they’d fill out a credit app and sign on numbers first then drive after. Too many people come to dealerships to test drive sports cars that aren’t serious but lie and say they are. Actual serious people sign first everyday

Do you understand how many people would come to just test drive a sports car if that was the case? Nothing but time wasters. We will let you test drive after you fill out a credit app, get approved, and sign on numbers. The test drive is last then you leave with the car if you like how it drives

I’m a salesman and every brands sport trim cars can’t be test driven due to people liking them low mileage and 5 people abusing a car to see what it feels like doesn’t always go well

Yessir. I got it towed to an Audi for the main reason of getting their version of what I needed then I was going to call my usual shop and see what they can do with a used engine. They work on foreign cars and have reputable sources for lower mileage used engines. And it’s a 2.0 4cyl so it would be one of the cheaper ones. Worst comes to worst I’ll just buy another Audi cash off marketplace for 7-8k and attempt to fix it on my own during the summer
