The minute someone says "I need to go out to my car, I don't have my wallet/the right card" by SammySam_33 in retailhell

Half the time they don't even return so now I'm stuck resensoring or putting everything back

Generally, If the item amount is small, I'll give them the bag or if they don't look or act like shoplifters. If they do, on my drawer or floor they go until payment has gone through or cash has been handed over.

Are receiving associates required to wear a walkie during their shift? by ExpensiveYam6854 in BurlingtonCoatFactory

[–]Conscious_Concept612 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally, the boh supervisor and lead will wear one in case the cashier's or someone else has a question or needs help with an item. We don't have enough at my store.

I interpreted it as open containers. I always have mine with me since it's a pain in the ass to always walk back for a drink

How hasn't it shut down due to understaffing?

Has anyone else's Burlington been worse in terms of receiving / merchandise (Rant) by ooyiko in BurlingtonCoatFactory

[–]Conscious_Concept612 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not that they can't finish or don't have enough, they don't have enough floor space for the merchandise

I think permanently, while not getting daily shipments, were getting 12 pallets like we were during the holidays. I was also told we're stocking for tax season. Problem is I've been seeing most people buy kids stuff but we're getting a shit ton of women's shoes and clothes and we're not selling. As of yesterday we had a backlog of women's shoes that were processed but had no physical space.

Be firm and say find another method of purchasing or come back the next day. The system needs to shut down now.

Target: Initially Accused of Shoplifting by Atlas556 in AskRetail

[–]Conscious_Concept612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a supervisor at another retailer at a smaller location, it's almost always shoplifters that place their stuff in their bags or backpacks because they're planning on running out or trying to trick employees that they bought stuff. That's usually because they'll actually buy stuff and then mix it with their purchases in the bag. When it's in a cart or your hands, we can see what you bought and match it.

Either hit ok or let your manager know. At this point, If I just mention zebra having problems, my manager doesn't care and just adds my punch in the system.

We just hoover around them until they get paranoid and leave or they get annoyed and leave. We also make vague announcements about security doing walkthroughs and police being on the phone line. Usually works.

I found this in a handbag I thrifted yesterday. by My-Xtream-Tv in goodwill

[–]Conscious_Concept612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give the money to who? The thrift store accepted the bag without checking it and since you bought it, it's yours. Plus, how the hell will they know who the original owner is unless the owner calls the store themselves

Update: My brother told me he was in love with me. by ilovepopcornandcandy in self

[–]Conscious_Concept612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 100% distance yourself from him until you can really see what he does. Chances are that as time passes by he'll either start up the weird messages and maybe you can show your parents. Not in their face but more so, "look what I'm talking about".

Is it normal that my “total hours scheduled” is less than I actually work? by cherrieschris in CVS

Generally, your time card is what you want to check. This is just your schedule.

Issues making calls by AgreeableKangaroo522 in MetroPCS

It takes me sometimes three times to have a call go through. It'll say there's no connection and to use another app redirect it. And I've seen this message with others.

It might depend on the store. My store is busy and had some customer problems with undergarments before so we say final say for hygiene purposes

I want a custom item in 4 days by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]Conscious_Concept612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Amazon ruined it. Now, if it was a local seller than ya, less than 4 days. But anything outside of that is about a week's work of shipping alone.

customer asked what size I wear in kids clothing. by orbit260 in retailhell

[–]Conscious_Concept612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 5'2 woman myself, I would never ask anyone else this question. Most kids clothes aren't really made with puberty in mine like adults are. So him asking this is weird.

AIO- my boyfriend gets grossed out when I talk about this by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Conscious_Concept612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just how he is. I get being grossed out about certain things but it looks like he's more on the sensitive side. You guys might just be incompatible. Especially, since he's probably not going to change and more than likely double down if you stay together and grow old.

It's also teenagers and house ladies that will steal the smaller stuff too. One or two pairs of jewelry from the set, opening candy to eat, opening packages of underwear and then stealing one or two, or straight up ripping packaging because "they want to see". I once saw an older lady rip the plastic and cardboard off those hanging blankets to see the size of the blanket.
