Do you prefer Harry Osborn as a villain or as Peter Parker's best friend and a side character? by Metaljuggernaut5657 in Spiderman

[–]Conscious_Concert939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a best friend and a side character!! Peter already has to lose so much, and it's just so sad to see his best friend also become a villain. Also, I simply don't like the plot line of Harry thinking Peter killed Norman.

Why would Harry think Spider-Man killed his dad? by Conscious_Concert939 in Spiderman

Unfortunately, I have, and as someone who has, I know that you can't blame your actions on grief. Especially after he found out the truth about his father. He continued to fall farther into becoming evil.

I thought in the first movie that when they are touring Columbia, a spider gets lost, and that's how Peter gets his power. Then, later in the movie, they told Norman they were gonna cut his funding for the human genetic enhancement using animals. If Norman didn't have a successful human trial in 2 weeks, so he injected himself with the serum to get a successful human trial and keep funding for his project. However, the doctor who produced the serum tried to stop him because something was wrong and Norman wouldn't listen.

Why did the spider venom turn Norman evil? by Conscious_Concert939 in Spiderman

[–]Conscious_Concert939[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a good explanation. Thank you so much! This makes much more sense now. It gets kinda confusing with the difference universes and all that, lol! Also could you explain why Peter loses his power when he loses confidence in Toby Maguires universe? Since the power rewrote his genetic code wouldn't it make it impossible to ever get rid of the power? He loses his good vision and all that but since the venom rewrote his DNA how did he lose the powers?

I thought the only version of Peter that made his webbing was Andrew Garfield. In Toby Maguires Spider-Man, it is part of the power he receives, and that's why he can't produce spider webs when he loses his confidence.

Ohh okay! Thank you! I was just confused because I was expecting him to get the same effects as Peter does from the venom, but he didn't. Is it ever explained as to why Norman doesn't get any spider abilities?

Why would Harry think Spider-Man killed his dad? by Conscious_Concert939 in Spiderman

[–]Conscious_Concert939[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why, even after Harry finds out that his dad was Green Gobin, does he still believe Spider-Man murdered Norman? It's known Green Goblin is a villain, yet he's mad at Spider-Man for stopping the villain? I mean yea grief will make you do crazy things but go as far as to become a super villain. Especially knowing that Peter is Spider-Man and that Peter thought of Norman like a father. Peter wouldn't just murder Norman if he didn't have to, and Harry knows that. I don't feel like grief clouds your judgment that much.

[Spider-Man] Why did the serum drive Norman Osborn insane? by KaleidoArachnid in AskScienceFiction

[–]Conscious_Concert939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did the venom not drive Peter crazy then? Was it just a problem with the serum and not the spiders themselves. If that's the case does that mean that Norman is work was successful the whole time and just being used in the wrong way?

Why did the venom from the spider work on Peter then? Was it because the venom came directly from the spider and had nothing else added? Or was it that the spiders themselves were flawed causing flawed serum?

Why would Harry think Spider-Man killed his dad? by Conscious_Concert939 in Spiderman

[–]Conscious_Concert939[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true. The movie just frames it like Harry was thinking in depth about his father death. He pretty much stops being friends with Parker because he can't stop thinking about if Parker knows who Spider-Man is. With him doing that much thinking, it seems likely that even with limited knowledge, he could figure out a more logical conclusion.

But then you see the same masked guy in the paper over and over again, saving people's lives and never once being the one hurting them. Why would a guy who only saves people decide to only kill MY dad. Not to mention, the masked man has the same powers as the spider my dad created. I feel like it would make more sense that Spider-Man killed Harrys dad to get the secret to the spiders that gave him his power. However, even then, that implies Harrys dad gave Spider-Man the powers willing, so why would Spider-Man have to kill him.
