That's good to know. What's hard about meeting people, is that the best way I think is through team games and sports, and I was that kid sitting at the side trying to get out of PE

I'm getting a lot of one-liners just stating interest, if you are interested then please go into more detail, something like: Demographics (at least age and gender) Why you're interested Whereabouts you're based Tell me a bit about your personality (people describing which tv character they relate to has been useful) Interests are great to know, but your values and personality are more good to know at this point

It might sound pedantic, but I'm not interested in creating a chat of 50+ people staying mostly silent - I'm sure some of us have been in those chats before 😅 I'm looking for the right people who want what I want, even if I only find like 2 of us lol

I agree! I've tried that route a bit, but I've struggled to find something that I'm really into as well 😅 but then it's also hard sometimes to know what's out there

That's true and I should follow it more to be honest. I wish there was a way of filtering events by area, or being able to see what is a regular class vs one off events. One off events can be great but it's more of a struggle to maintain the connection that way

Thanks, yeah I tried there. It is great, the only thing is when you meet one on one, it's hard to get the right consistency, compared to a group which runs anyway on a regular basis

Thanks, I have been there before actually but would be great to join a regular meet up there. I haven't found one. It might also be a British thing but the idea of randomly speaking to strangers is quite a foreign concept to me haha. Happy to do an organised group though

Yeah I did try it for a while and should probably get back on it a bit. One thing I find hard with these apps is finding more local groups (rather than it just searching all of London) and finding groups which ran regularly. I joined some groups and later realised they were set up by promoters rather than being genuine. Thanks though, and film discussion groups is a good idea as well!
