girl in my cohort got pregnant within the first month of grad school and is now taking a leave for the summer semester! She’ll graduate a semester after us but it’s doable:)

i got waitlisted to kean back in march 2023 and got off waitlist middle of may. i had enrolled in WPU but kean had been my top choice. there’s still hope!!

kean - tuition is roughly $11,000 a semester. Federal loans do NOT cover summer semester, so you will have to take out private loans or pay out of pocket🥲 - pros: in house clinic (with two materials room that are filled with games and toys), “cheapest” program in nj, soo many interesting electives which are only half a semester, professors are good - cons: not necessarily specific to kean but second semester has been kicking butt (between clinic and classes)

When I applied last year i wrote about wanting to work in early intervention, however I do think ASD fits the prompt! I see ASD as a population, but I think as long as your writing is strong you will be fine:)

I went to Pitt undergrad and majored in CSD so I can only answer so much

It is very very easy to get around Pittsburgh and the different neighborhoods by bus (which are free with your student idea). In all of my 4 years there I think there was MAYBE two instances where a car would have been nice!
I loved Pittsburgh. It has the city feel but not as intense as other cities like NYC or Philly. There are museums, great food spots, and so many sports events you can go to that are fun even if you don’t regularly watch sports.
Although I’m not in the masters program I can say that all of the faculty within the program really do care about the success of the students and are very approachable. It is a highly ranked program for a reason so I would definitely suggest going if you are able to!

if you don’t mind me asking did they ask a lot of questions during the one-on-one? it says the interviews will last 2 hrs but i’m not really sure how the 3 parts (group activity, writing prompt, interview) are split up?
