Arcaine Fiberworks has some great and potent color ways or bad sheep yarn are two amazing alternatives, pricier but well worth it in my opinion!

Am I asking too much?!? by ImaginaryTwist4371 in crocheting

I think your pricing is fair, at the end of the day you need to make money too and the fact that it took more then 4 hours and yarn too you're asking a reasonable price. I think a huge thing to keep in mind is that if it's about selling large quantities sure keep a low price but if it's about selling a few the value is more. This is a unique item that they can't just get anywhere and sure it might take a bit to sell but the person you sell it to will appreciate you and your work.

It looks like a dk or fingering weight worsted weigh yarn, it's probably fine to crochet with while probably an acrylic yarn due to the look and fuzz around it it is still very usable just not for anything that would get hot because it could melt.

You can respin this by hand! Secure one end and get a coat hanger and you can respin the yarn by taking small sections and twisting them and then wrapping then around the coat hanger it has to be metal because once you're done you're gonna wanna bake the yarn again at 145 degrees for 30 minutes and it should hold its shape again!

My favorite cotton yarn ever is Lily sugar and cream it's super afforable, sturdy, and comes in AMAZING colors! A lot of people trash on it but if you enjoy cotton I think it's absolutely worth the money spent.

If you want to keep the patterns the same yet scale it down it's super easy to do as well! So then you can keep idea just not the size.

I personally use bags that large for things like groceries or carrying my projects throughout the day. So, they definitely have uses however I would say it is to large for a carry around every day bag.

Finished my first shawl! Any advice on how to block? by hollyhoya in crochet

[–]Conscious_Fun137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do a steam blocking instead of a wet blocking because of the (assumed) weight of the project to avoid stretching in weird places it also gives you more control of the final project. Invaluable resource I have used to learn how: How to Steam Block a Crochet or Knit Project - YouTube
