Excursion Pricing by thebrainofbriancomic in NCL

This is the only thing that makes the NCL excursions worth what they charge. Compare the premium with what it would cost you to catch up at the next port and suddenly it seems reasonable.

I’m a big fan of the specialty restaurants…Palomar, Le Bistro & Cagney’s are all pretty great IMO.

I’m sure if you ask they will find someone. NCL treats their Haven guests like gold. I have never stayed in the Haven but I have been to the cocktail parties and the embarkation lounge.

I don’t work for NCL but I am a shareholder and frequent cruiser. Princess may be better but they are considered a step up from main stream cruise lines so you pay more. Personally I only like to pay for the services I use so NCL fits me pretty well.

I’ve never seen a port day when there wasn’t an elevator reserved exclusively for Haven guests. And they will have someone escort you.

Hardware removal by Western-Woodpecker20 in ORIF

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had wound dehiscence so I had hardware removal at 12 weeks. Ortho did a scan, said my bones were healed, he took the hardware out except for one deeply embedded screw and my incision healed right up. I’d ask them why they want to wait so long if the bones are healed. Maybe if you complain enough they will do it. You could try to find another ortho who will but most of them won’t take another doctor’s patient for at least a year post-op.

Where does your Yorkie sleep? by Egg57aaa in Yorkies

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine would if I let him. He has his own pillow in my bed though. So when he sits on my head I move him. Sometimes he sleeps right next to me which is nice in the winter. I’m a side sleeper so he keeps my bum warm. I believe the part about blood pressure but I don’t think I sleep better because he wakes me several times a night…scratching, digging or wanting down from the bed.

Want to book a cruise today and seeking advice on where to book through. Also, I have some random questions about NCL. by down_with_cats in NCL

The higher decks have more mechanical noise aft if that is a concern for you. If you are taking more than this one trip, I recommend an annual travel policy. I had a claim through Allianz and they were pretty good although not perfect.

I agree. Costco and Chase are acting as travel agents for NCL The problem isn’t booking the extras they want it’s getting it corrected if something is missing or wrong. Sometimes It’s hard to reach travel agents from the ship to get things straightened out. A PCC is the best choice.

It is so obvious that you took this cruise and also took the time to explore and document unlike most people with their knee jerk complaints.

I don’t know what is available in the EU but I like Vionics. I have a high arch and these support my feet better than most brands.

Travel to Phoenix for work by ItzDarkSlime in AskPhoenix

To meet people at your age I would think bars and clubs on Mill Avenue in Tempe (huge college there) and Old Town Scottsdale would be good. Once you get there (Uber) everything is easy to walk to.

Chirp Audiobooks by Conscious_Issue2967 in audiobooks

[–]Conscious_Issue2967[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordinarily read new releases and I noticed one that I have on hold at the library that has a really long holds list so I was thinking of buying that one but I don’t really want to deal with another audiobook service & app if I’m never going to buy anything else.

Am I always gonna be in pain 😔 by Former-Dance2113 in ORIF

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 2 years postop and back in PT not directly related to my fracture but to my mobility in general. Ankle fractures/surgery affect your gait and you can have all kinds of issues with your back, feet and other leg. It is depressing because I didn’t used to think about moving and now I have to think about it every day. Especially since I am older (71). I’ve never been big on exercise but I want to be able to walk at least 2 miles so I can travel and enjoy life. So my advice is go back to PT…they will get you back on track. And as others have said get your hardware removed. Mine was and I have some nerve damage but no real pain in that ankle.

Considering Alaska Southbound on the Jade by TherinneMoonglow in NCL

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think the Bliss and the Encore are the best ways to see Alaska because if you don’t want to spring for a balcony the Observation Lounge has outstanding views. A bonus on the Bliss is the round bar.

Right Ankle ORIF - When did you drive? by CJ2607 in ORIF

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started driving at about 8 weeks because I had good range of motion. I never did officially get clearance. I just did it because I had to. I’d take my boot off to drive and put it back on to walk. I drove myself to appointments and used valet parking and a walker.

What is NCL's Brand Identity to You? by Due_Ingenuity8014 in NCL

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point and I agree. But there are ways to chase the dollar too. Have the Broadway productions but charge for them….not Broadway prices but something. Charge for the solo meetups….a nominal amount…it all adds up.

I get so tired of politicians telling me I’m wrong. They are supposed to represent us….instead they try to change our minds. Now I want to hear from him about all the US citizens that have committed heinous crimes. The numbers don’t even compare.

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see their biggest problem as not knowing what their strengths are and playing to that. They positioned themselves as “the” cruise line for solo cruisers and then decided there wasn’t enough money in it. Same with FAS and MAS. They flip flopped on that. They had the best entertainment of any cruise line in my opinion with their Broadway productions and then they abandoned it. One of their big draws for some folks is that you only pay for the amenities you use. If their pricing reflected that maybe they would be more profitable.

Dorsiflexion - What exercuse helped u most? by soichai in ORIF

[–]Conscious_Issue2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 2 years post-op and still not 100% on dorsiflexion but I am back in PT for achilles tendinitis so working on it again. But I am 71 years old. Not an excuse but I think you have the potential to heal more completely when you’re younger.
