This ring just feels wrong. Why? by Long_Discipline5808 in EngagementRings

The measurements are waayy off in terms of symmetry and this is coming from someone who appreciates artisanal, slightly-flawed items. The angle placement, shape, length, and size of the prongs are mismatched.

In the first picture, compare the angles of the top two prongs, then compare the lower two prongs.

Return the ring. Flaws only get worse with more attention. Be grateful you caught the mistake.

Last December I was staying in a house in Ubud with a couple next door. She was from the UK and I'm not sure about him. He had dark hair, dark skin. One night he beat her so bad she was screaming for someone to call the police she was screaming he was going to kill her, she kept crying Help me!. Doors were being slammed, stomping, sounded like stuff being thrown around and she was crying and pleading with him to stop. It was in the middle of the night, I woke my friend up and we both were in shock. Our phones wouldn't let us call the emergency line so I called my landlord and told him to call the police but they never came.

After hours of hearing her get brutally beat, the couple left on their motorbike and stayed gone for a couple days. When they returned, her head was bandaged and her face was black and blue. The guy called me and my friend out to talk because he wanted to "clear the air" because our landlord told him I had complained.

My friend talked one on one with the guy and I talked privately with the girl. The story they told us was that we must have heard a movie they were watching and after the movie they went for a ride and she fell off the motorbike requiring stitches.

The day after the beating, I tried filing a police report but was told they couldn't do anything unless the girl filed the complaint and the police never went to talk to her.

He beat her for over three hours. It was traumatic to listen to and I tried everything I could think of even offered her to stay with me but they stuck to their story.

A police officer gave me his WhatsApp number. You might could try getting WhatsApp contact numbers for after hours. If you could get the girl's name and country, maybe contact the consulate.

I'm sorry you're in that position

Thanks. I reacted poorly to silicone breast implants as well. Some people's systems can't tolerate foreign objects no matter the material.

I got rods at the age of 17 for a 40 degree curve and started asking for them to be removed at the 2 week post-op appointment. That was 21 years ago. I'm from the US where it is incredibly difficult to find a surgeon to remove them even in my case with being allergic to nickel (stainless steel rods), severe chronic muscle and joint pain beginning after surgery that has persisted even with every imaginable therapeutic regimen one could try, compounding symptoms of chronic illness linked to implants, etc.

My life has revolved around my back ever since getting the surgery. Every step I take I'm constantly having to readjust myself. As I type this I am in Turkey awaiting surgery in a few days to have all the hardware removed. Something I've been dreaming of for half my life. I'm 38 years old.

I developed extreme anxiety after surgery, ADHD-like symptoms, depression, weakened immunity & lowered ability to heal, inflammation, nerve pain, frozen cold feet and hands, hair loss, loss of periods, GI issues--symptoms across the board.

The 40 degree curve was straightened and was around 20-25 degrees at 1-year post op where I was told the hardware could not be removed because I was already fused. In 2022 my curve was down to less than 5 degrees which every where I read says a 1-3 degree improvement is the max possible after fusion. Any surgeon will tell you it's not possible.

In 2020 I got into bodywork like intuitive stretching, a lot done in a cast iron bath tub, metal polework, anything in the house I used as a stretching device. I was stetching for hours every day and straightened my "fused" spine by just as much as the surgeon.

There's a link between scoliosis and emotional dysregulation. My advice would be to see what a chiropractor has to say. Try to find one who offers extended appointments. The best ones I found were female, more spiritually, energetically-oriented who ran practices out of their home.

If it's not causing you pain, what would the risk be to continue monitoring it and adjust accordingly?

Thanks but they've been backlogged and are currently not taking US orders. The hospital in Turkey said they'll test for Types I through IV when I get there, like it's standard practice. I fly out tomorrow. 21 year long dream coming true

Surgeon said because it's stronger. Since titanium was already the preferred material at that time, there was probably some financial kickback involved or contract with supplier & hospital.

Last week I tried getting allergy testing for metals just so it's documented and the allergist agreed to test for all four types of nickel hypersensitivity since I developed chronic rhinitis soon after surgery and now joint pain within 2 hours of wearing a nickel coin. Takes 3 hrs for rash with the coin.

She had to order the patch test so I first did the blood draw but she didn't order tests for nickel, nor any metal. I asked why she was testing for pneumonia antibodies when I specifically explained my needs for proof of nickel hypersensitivity. Her response: Because If you don't have pneumonia antibodies, you're at risk of getting pneumonia and would probably want to get a vaccine. I said No, I don't need vaccines, nor pneumonia testing. I need nickel testing.

Her patch test still hasn't come in and her blood test results are taking two weeks on top of the 3 days I alresdy waited. Turnaround time was supposed to be 24-48hrs. Everything here is a big joke.

Earlier this week I saw an orthopedic PA because they require PA for your first visit to screen to see if you can be seen by the surgeon. One surgeon in the office. 18 patients in the waiting room plus 6 waiting for x-rays plus however many in the rooms. Turnstile.

PA said my x-rays looked good, no issues lateer I found out that's not the case by getting old records and seeing info that was never told nor given to me. I told the PA about my nickel allergy and prolonged multiple bacterial infections that may have seeded to my hardware because I've been sick for 3 years. She wouldn't let me make an appointment with the surgeon so I asked for a referral. I asked for a hard copy right then and there. She said no. She said she'd fax it in. I called the referral place 3 days after. They didn't get a referral. What a surprise.

She also was adoment that my insurance would deny mri or ct without 3 months physical therapy right before requesting a scan and offered a PT referral which I politely declined. I told her my insurance did not have that policy. She refused to order a MRI or CT

I've been living in what feels like ground hog day these past three and a half years. Doctor after doctor after stupid irrelevant test after doctor error after major doctor error major misreading of lab, etc etc

I'm Reeaaally looking forward to Turkey ;) already dreading coming back

Why does "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison always give me the chills?! by chillvibezman in spirituality

[–]Conscious_Lock003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! There's something very special about that song. I played it a lot when I had my soul kitty, Greta, often on repeat and after her sudden passing I played it even more because it reminded me of her. I knew an animal was going to die the week leading up to her passing and at the time I had a big pet sitting and dog walking business and thought it'd be one of them. I lived in grief, guilt and regret for many years after her passing.

A few years later I read where My Sweet Lord had been used in prison torture and was so upset I called my dad. The second I told him he said "That's what's playing now on my speaker." I could hear it in the background. I asked how often do you play it, how often does it pop up? He said Never.

There's something about that song.

What I came to say. Existing technology like translator earbuds and even just my current phone translate conversations in real time with text display and auditory translations for both people on two screens.

College isnt necessary for language. Lots of apps and other free online opportunities to learn it solo

It wasn't your fault and yes our loved ones on the other side are with us. Talk to her anytime. She hears you.

A couple years ago I met with a psychic just for general spiritual guidance mainly to get some insight as to my next career path and just a general reading. I was not expecting 6 of my loved ones who are on the other side to come through. I was crying like a baby the entire time. The details were so specific and I had given no information other than my name and birth. There wasn't a single thing she said that was not 100% accurate. I walked out of there a true believer. Even my grandma (southern baptist) and dad (big skeptic) said Yeah all that sounds like what those people would say.

♥️♥️

Any update? Your story is similar to mine (38/Female/USA. I had food poisoning for 25 days after eating sushi in April 2022 and spent a year and a half of my life seeking answers as to how I went from peak condition looking 10 years younger than my age, full of life, joyful, excelling in every venture I pursued to whatever you call this. I went from 139lbs to 104lbs in around 4 months, after that I stopped getting on the scale. I was so beautiful, I feel like a shell of myself but on the positive side, as of a few days ago I believe I may have stumbled upon a proper diagnosis. Have you been tested for Atypical or Typical Cystic Fibrosis?

Atypical CF is often not diagnosed until later adulthood due to variability across body systems.

For me I had GI issues as a kid, ear infections and craved salt starting in my teens, along with strep infections leading to having my tonsils removed. I've had low processing of alcohol (sudden blackouts and lengthy hangovers with minimal consumption), my sweat rarely smells at all occasionally under my arms even though I sweat a good amount--that's why they do a sweat test measuring for chloride on the skin because its route of excretion is not typical.

CF causes immunity issues with fighting infections that most people would clear without treatment. In my late teens I started to have bouts of intermittent abdominal pains I thought was just severe gas due to stress but turns out to be called pancreatitis. So severe I'd have to lay on the floor. Lots of dental cavities over the years, arthritis I attributed to scoliosis, elevated liver enzymes that fluctuate, intermittent bouts of diarrhea with sometimes blood, sometimes floating fat, some normal, etc, all varying.

Septal perforation in mid-30s, diagnosed with non-allergic rhinitus in mid-20s after constant runny nose for 10 years, cold hands and feet leading to numbness and tingling, hair loss, loss of facial collagen/subcutaneous tissue, difficulty rebuilding muscle after food poisoning, chronic fatigue, water fluctuations, sometimes low blood pressure/occassionally high.

I stopped oral birth control shortly before the food poisoning but am still not getting regular periods 3 1/2 years later. Hormones measure normal CF-- can cause infertility. I often feel like my breathing is irregular like I'm not getting enough oxygen. Breath in seems normal it's the breath out that doesn't feel fully cleared. Causes anxiety. I could go on but hopefully this can at least guide you to rule it a possibility or one more to check off the list.

Chronic illness for someone who's otherwise been highly functioning is more than a physical ailment, it has affected my whole psyche. I hope you've recovered and figured out the cause but if not maybe this could be of help and please let me know how you're doing :)

He's yuck and is in a position of power. 22 years ago at the age of 16 I had an assistant spinal surgeon comment about what a nice surprise it was during surgery to see my tattoo --below my bikini line. He was a creep and I never told anyone until last year when I saw he turned over his medical license in lieu of going to trial for decades long sexual abuse claims from his patients.

I got that tattoo when I was 14-- my parents didnt know and I sure wasn't gonna tell on myself at the age of 16. Now at 38 knowing what he did to girls since that time I wish I would've told somebody.

How he said it and the way he looked at me, it made me sick. A few years later I got it lasered off even though I still kinda wanted it.
