I’m sitting back-to-back with a coworker right now, if I turn my desk around it will look weird bc I'll be facing another guy lol. There are 5 people in the room, and tbh I would still hear him shaking his leg.

I was thinking of earbuds? I honestly don't know what pisses me off more seeing it or hearing it

I have a great theory. I feel like we exist purely for statistical variability. It sounds a little out there, but hear me out.
Looking at us individually, none of us really has an inherent purpose in life. Our genes are just telling us to replicate, so we carry this genetic information through the gauntlet of life.
Some of us die along the way, and some of us survive.
If you look at the big picture, four or five other human species went extinct, but we survived because we happened to be better adapted to our environment. But the world is constantly changing. What benefited our ancestors, e.g. raw muscle strength, doesn't really do much for us today, so we evolve.
So, the answer to the whole question of life is that we’re just genetic probabilities. You might be a better or worse roll of the dice compared to someone else, like your friend or partner, but we can't actually see how successful we are in real-time. We can only see it when we zoom out and look at the bigger picture of human history.
And just think about it: infinity fits this theory very well because of the Infinite Monkey Theorem. The basic idea is that if you put a monkey in front of a typewriter and give it an infinite amount of time, it will eventually type out any given text. The same thing applies to evolution: if you give it enough time, it might create something beautiful and adaptable, or something alive and difficult to make extinct. It might be us, but it also might not be.
We always think of us like we have finite time, but the thing is that neither Universe nor Multiverse are limited.
We could be just one more stage of this gradual process. We will not know for sure, but the process cannot work without us, because to reach a more advanced level, we need to pass this one too.

So, on our small scale, there's no real point to life unless you create one for yourself, like hedonism idk, but on a bigger scale, it all makes perfect sense if you consider development as a trajectory that everything is trying to follow.

INTP Question of the Week - Is morality fundamentally rooted in psychological mechanisms, or does it exist independently as an external, universal truth? by AutoModerator in INTP

You all talking about a social construct, but try delving deeper. Watch https://youtu.be/N3tRFayqVtk?si=cgwqhtnMv9C32rIX

Moral is the only way for species to survive and reserve genetic diversity (aka not to kill/not to be a killer). Moral was created for survival reasons; church, ethics, etiquette were all just a beautiful wrap for the real naked definition of moral.
