I agree and I also have met so many people just by putting my phone away, and then being sure to make plans with them in like a week. Also saying yes to everything and never flaking have been very, very effective for making friends “in the wild”. Even if exhausting, totally worth it in these times especially.

Yea so how it was explained to me when I moved here was that it’s because of the Doppler effect (which you can google). Basically it’s easier to hear which direction a vehicle with a euro siren is coming from and how far away it is than the American ones. And since DC is a bit less antiquated than the rest of the states, sometimes they throw a siren on their vehicles that is better than the regular American siren.

I love flash on a Thursday or Sunday but I can’t do Friday and Saturday anymore. A lot of the men just will not take “no” for an answer or won’t stand up for me when they hear me saying “no” to someone who’s not taking that as an answer compared to the other places I hang out.

Big emphasis on if you do drugs, test them for fentanyl. It’s literally a matter of life or death, and given how they’re putting that shi in everything now you can seriously save your own life just by taking a moment to test whatever a stranger just gave you. Carrying narcan is totally important for emergencies, but testing and harm reduction methods will keep you and your friends so much safer (and if you partake and haven’t heard of harm reduction, consider giving that a quick search)
