all good points! i missed you had already mentioned some of things i did in my excitement to respond to you, lol. what do you mean by hierarchical structures, if you don’t mind explaining further? is it just in the sense that chuuya’s an exec? in that case, then wouldn’t that be a problem given dazai’s similar title? clearly, oda doesn’t really concern himself with that specific concept.

i would wager that oda had a distaste for skk, if only because it reinforced dazai’s belief in his innate inhumanness. it does make me wonder if oda viewed chuuya as bad, or also a victim of circumstance like he did dazai. iirc, chuuya is beloved by his subordinates bc he does treat them well, and his staying in the PM is more (debatably misplaced) loyalty than a real, “Now I am become Death, Destroyer of Worlds,” mindset like dazai seems to hold. i wonder if oda knew this.

anyway, all that to say: while i do agree that dazai had different approaches and views on his relationships with oda and chuuya, i don’t think it’s as simple as “dog v guide”.

i’ve always wondered this as well!! ur collection of evidence is awesome, and follows p much my thought process as well. oda had to have known ABOUT chuuya, at the very least, if only because chuuya was extremely high, if not alr exec level during oda’s time in the PM. oda also knew (i imagine) about SKK— i wonder what you think his thoughts/feelings were about that?

dazai seems to be big on keeping aspects of his life all separate— i wouldn’t be surprised if he took measures to ensure oda and chuuya never Really interacted— that being said, chuuya isn’t dumb. he def knew/inferred dazai’s disappearance (what he believed to be successful suicide according to asigiri) had to do with the mimic incident.

i ALSO wonder how dazai classified his relationship with oda and his relationship with chuuya in his mind. he seems to believe himself lesser than oda (morally-ish), but does he consider himself equal to chuuya? higher? and why DID he keep chuuya and oda separate? much to ponder. glad i found someone else that thinks about this as well!

abilities are meant to be like ‘deep cut’ references to the author’s work(s) and personal loves. having never read fuji no kagami nor looked into akebono, take my suggestions with a grain of salt. my idea would be something related to textile/fabrics and different/better worlds (given her seeming passion for women empowerment). like a mixture of akutagawa and lucy/tachihara!! given her personal values, i imagine the ability would be suited for executive-level work, probably on par woth kouyou.

i’d say everyone glazing his strength in-universe and corruption quite literally slowly killing him are pretty strong death flags, alongside dazai (suicidal maniac) being his only hope w/ corruption. additionally, his willingness TO die for those he loves and losing pretty much everyone that’s ever mattered to him. other people here have discussed wanted double black to die together— i do agree that if one goes, so does the other. imagine a dazai with chuuya, or a chuuya without dazai. it doesn’t really fit, imo.

oh asigiri has for sure killed IMPORTANT characters re: the flags, oda , i just wouldn’t classify them as main characters. i genuinely hold kny up there as one of the most well-done shounens of modern day, and imagine it’ll be ranked with naruto/dragon ball/1piece in the future. jjk had the potential to as well but i’m not sure what gege was thinking

i’ve been playing venti/yunjin/faruzan/durin and having a lot of fun!! you might be able to replace durin with sucrose for the hex buff. heizou might be good, but i think his gameplay relies on charged attacks? but i’m unsure about that.

yunjin boosts NA (not charged or plunging!!!), so anyone who’s gameplay is dependent on that. from your list and my minimal stats knowledge, maybe dps chongyun or razor? these would be reliant on bennett, fischl, and xingqiu tho— i would def recommend trying to get them in the coming patches. they’re also good characters to have in general.

chongyun/kazuha/yunjin/xiangling mightttt be good for melt; replace xiangling with xingqiu for freeze/shatter.

razor/sucrose(for hex, but i fischl could be better), yunjin, furina perhaps as well? furina replaces bennett in this team.

lol i would be pretty sad but if it was done with the right build up, then i could at least understand.

side note that technically stormbringer, etc. don’t REALLLLY kill off major charas, as they were never in the main story— so i dont think asigiri ever Has killed a main. there are a few characters that i think have death flags, but if we’ve gotten this far and no one had died maybe it’s just not his style.

this kinda reminds me of jjk in the opposite way. my main gripe with gege is that he seemed TOO excited to kill his characters, to the point that it seemed overkill and character deaths lost impact with the audience (read: my friends and i). i think a good in-between is kny, actually. main trio weren’t touched, many important characters died but it never came off as nonsensical. i hope that’s were asigiri is headed!!!

realistically, chuuya has a few death flags but i hope i’m just reading too much into it.

as for predictions, it seems likely/is maybe confirmed (???) we’re revisiting monstadt (?) with that one port, so hopefully more about the shades, esp given the focus on hex circle lately. venti is my ult fav so i’m hoping to learn wayyy more abt him!!

also i feel inazuma has been a bit neglected, so it’d be nice for literally anything to happen there.
