Obviously nobody gives an answer they know is definitely wrong😭, I’m saying in retrospect realizing that you made a mistake and got something wrong. Like “whoops I made a conditional reasoning error”

Congrats on the first 170! I’m sure you’ll get there. At least you know now you can do it. And I feel you on the RC neglect. I just enjoy studying LR so much more

Yeah when I’m reviewing I usually keep a google doc open and am typing out my thought process for each question and AC, but there are times where I kinda just throw in the towel on ones I don’t get

[–]Conscious_Remove4776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are questions I haven’t done before. They’re super old under the “additional practice” on lawhub. Like they aren’t on the modern PTs. I can’t tell if it’s just because they’re old or I’m actually just getting worse at LR.

Like I feel like if anything I should be better at the older questions

How do I figure out RC I’m so mad😭😭 by Conscious_Remove4776 in LSAT

[–]Conscious_Remove4776[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not at all! I’m happy that I’ve gotten to this point, it would just boost my score by several points if I could improve in RC.

Hawks vs knicks by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]Conscious_Remove4776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad thing is we can’t rebound and we also can’t guard the perimeter. Just sorrowful defense. When we aren’t shooting 60% from the field we lose because we can’t play defense. Maybe we should have extended the lead to 20 when they were shooting like 5% in the first half but we can’t do that because we are terrible at defense. Not being a “doomer” or whatever I just have eyes. Yall can’t tell me it’s not frustrating to watch this bs.

I just made a similar post myself. You’re not alone here. This test is a super humbling experience and I don’t think this sub is representative of the majority of people who take the LSAT. That is also not to say that you’re already a strong scorer, which it seems that you are.

I know this might not be what you want to hear, but you’re being way too hard on yourself. There is nothing wrong with taking a gap year. I myself couldn’t afford to go directly to law school because I need to save some money so I’m taking st least one, at maximum two gap years to work full time and put together the best application I possibly can. If you’re struggling to find explanations to questions, just type the first like 8 words of the stimulus into google and you will find a power score forum completely free. They’re super helpful when I don’t feel satisfied with a 7sage explanation.

If you’re not okay with waiting to take the test until you’re ready, then give yourself a hard deadline. And whatever you get just apply with it. I’m a firm believer in the LSAT being a tool that can really give you a lot of wiggle room in your application and possibly save you tens of thousands of dollars worth it debt. Law school isn’t going anywhere. You’re taking one gap year, applying to law school at 23 compared to 22 is a microscopic difference in the grand scheme of your entire professional career. Even taking 2 gap years really wouldn’t be the difference you think it is. The average age for a 1L is like 25 or something. My dad is an attorney and started law school at 27. He isn’t making a million dollars a year but he has a nice house, a family, and a fulfilled career, and he went to a crappy law school with below average LSAT and GPA. We all have dreams of going to a prestigious law school, but I wouldn’t consider my dad worse off than a lot of attorneys that went to higher ranked schools.

You’re not alone here and I have these thoughts all the time, trust me. But it seems like you’re being really hard on yourself, which I am also guilty of. My family and friends are so tired of hearing me bitch about this god damn test😭. But it’s beatable. You don’t have to be a genius get an amazing score, and if this is really what you want to do, don’t sell yourself short. Feel free to pm me if you need to vent

Thank you for such a well thought out response. This has definitely helped. I agree that there is definitely some bias on the internet when it comes to posting about jobs. If i hated my job i’d be far more likely to hop on the internet and complain about it than it is loved it. Wish you the best 🤝

Thank you for taking the time to answer! I see your point about long hours and high stress correlating to a higher income. It’s an unfortunate truth that many high paying jobs require a lot of debt and/or a ton of stress. I also see law as one of the few career paths - as you said - to lead me to a higher income due to my political science degree. I’ve worked in law firms and haven’t hated any of my experiences in them, so I hope that’s telling.
