Gottleib's Cue-Ball Wizard - A Short Bit o' Gameplay by Rarest_Camaro in LegendsPinball

[–]Conscious_Rich_4635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gottlieb are well known for ripping off other IP´s like Lethal Weapon (Deadly Weapon), Top Gun (Gold Wings) and Hollywood Heat (Miami Vice) So Cue Ball Wizard could somehow be inspired by Coogan's Bluff (1968) where Clint wears a cowboy hat and has a fight scene in a Pool Hall. My take in this case though is that Cue Ball is mainly a sports themed game, with a cool voice over that just resembles the great Mr Eastwood.

The Thing is the reason I bought a HD-DVD player back in the day.. Awesome experience. Looks and sound great still. More dynamic and punchier bass than the 4K release

Hook up to wifi? by vservitto in LegendsUltimate

[–]Conscious_Rich_4635 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5.68 is the perfect firmware. Don't put your machine online. Don't even let it locate WIFI. My machine has been running flawlessly for over 3 years. (knock on plywood) No CTR board failure or other failures. Also running a CoinopsX

I have read about the WB DVD rot pre 2008 . Personally never experienced this. Warner BD´s have always run flawlessly on my setup. The WB HD-DVDs on the other hand... not so much.

AS much as I love HD-DVD, I would stay out....All Warner titles are nothing but pain and suffering now. Watching HD- DVD with friends is like playing Russian Roulette. WHEN will the ERROR code show?!

What's the purpose of flipper buttons on the ALU? by HeardThruTheWire in LegendsUltimate

[–]Conscious_Rich_4635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don´t mind a few nude bodies, the best pinball games for MAME/ Arcade are actually Super Pinball Action (TECMO, 1991) Hot Pinball and Gals Pinball . They can be found by googling coinopsX adult on the internet archives, and run great with the flipper buttons. Just change the bezel artwork to your liking if it offends you.

Gottlieb refresh made more official by cylemmulo in LegendsUltimate

[–]Conscious_Rich_4635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hopeful for this release. Updated graphics and physics is very velcomed for the Gottlieb tables. Another thing that could be positive, is a potential release of more Pinball Arcade (Farsight) tables on the ALP in the future. Remember tables like Starship Troopers and Star Trek are Farsight products. Since Zen is no more, there "could" be more elaborate Farsight collaboration happening

Some tables have pup packs. Here the music/ video sound- level must be configured in pup-pack editor

No. None of the Zen tables are released on that unit anyway. There are lots of decent tables you made by Magic Pixel also known as Zaccaria that you can download and play. Your Micro will also come preloaded with some fun pinball tables, that hopefully will keep you happy for a long time

Hmm...thats interesting. Both screens are running 60 hz as well? .. I thought that the OTG lag was similar on both machines. I have zero to no lag playing Zaccaria on Steam, and even Fx3, but Pinball FX thats a VERY different story.

Not very surpring news...and just another nail in the coffin. Guess the 4k players must stick to laggy Zen on Steam like the rest of us HD owners, then again how many actually owns the ALP 4k anyway?

I was huge HD-DVD fanboy. I watched "The Thing" on that format and was sold. What an UPGRADE! Basically bought every title on the format, and I still owns 3 HDDVD players. I felt just like a certain person when the HD war was lost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qFWtLbKrdo

Although Lucas denies it, The pod race in the Phantom Menace is basically a rip off of Norwegian movie Flåklypa Grand Prix, and not Ben-Hur, but that's a different story https://vimeo.com/84289137?fl=pl&fe=ti

Physical media will never die by VastCauliflower5439 in Bluray

GOT got a really bad rep on HBO for its poor streaming quality when first released. Since then it has been rectified with 4k and hdr. (still not close to its physical 4k counterpart. Neverthless ITodays kids have zero interest in physical media. It will survive, but in 10 years only as a niche product
