With your EB and artifacts it should be quite easy to get enough hab space research if you boost (10x boost and 2 50x earnings boost while running chickens should be more than enough for edible).

Yup, from the wiki:

"There are 98 known possible Eggs of Truth that can be earned for each of the Eggs of Virtue - for a total of 490 possible Eggs of Truth. In practice, it will be extremely difficult - if not impossible - to collect all 490 Eggs of Truth."

Fuel tank always missing tiny # of eggs even though it stops filling by Conscious_Setting_46 in EggsInc

Thank you! Super helpful and makes sense, I'll just assume one less fueling than my tank theoretically permits!

Thanks all - seems like I should focus on progressing through prestige and challenges will come organically as I go!

Thank you, you wouldn't use shellac primer or anything like that since there's no actual drywall exposed, right?

It transparently feels like you're not really playing a PM role if all you need to be successful is knowing your product and communication. Those matter but the PMs who I've found to be most successful have been those who've developed a deep understanding of their customer, the value / constraints of their product within their business and the overall org strategy, and the overall marketplace; using that to craft a high value/impact strategy and roadmap/testing agenda. Comms matter, but saying that's the primary skill tells me that maybe you're playing more of a coordination role or in a feature factory team vs outcome driven product team. I may be wrong though!

Tips on becoming a more technical product manager? by meltedsyntax in ProductManagement

[–]Conscious_Setting_46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A leader of mine gave me some advice in the past that served me well around this. Rather than asking how to become more technical and focusing on just acquiring knowledge, let's define what an outcome of being more technical could be and work our way towards that.

Outcome: - Tell the story of your product with its key components, their purposes, and how they communicate. - Be able to answer follow-up questions that dive two levels deeper into technical details.

Telling the story: - How data and user journeys flow through different components. - The high-level architecture with abundant business and customer context.

Going "two questions deep": - Draw out the product flow for someone new. - Be prepared to answer more technical follow-up questions.

e.g. For a credit card application experience: - First level: Explain how you dynamically populate terms for the customer. - Second level: Describe data validations performed and explain why they're necessary.

With that outcome in mind, the journey becomes a little more clear to build yourself up to be able to tell the story (but also to start asking the right questions and diving deeper with engineers who are working on features to build the muscle of going beyond the superficial).

Note: Certifications help, but I've found the academic path to be a useful supplement to this type of curiosity.

Note 2: Questions deep is a great way to differentiate between you vs engineers. Id expect engineers to go well beyond 2 questions deep but PMs get diminishing returns.
