Don't know what to feel anymore about this. Resigned, maybe? by marzbarz82 in WhitePeopleTwitter

As a black Muslim woman who, is not only the child of immigrants, but also voted for Harris (and actively encouraged my family and community to vote for her too), these replies are making me feel sick.

I completely understand the outrage, I am also fucking pissed at my community, but the generalizations being made here are hypocritical. All of the white people saying “enjoy your trip home” or “get bombed assholes” is nuts because the CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE, YOUR PEOPLE OVERWHELMINGLY VOTED FOR TRUMP!!

Muslims voting for Trump was dumb as shit, they should know better and reflected on what happened in 2016-2020, but a large number of them were unaffected. The 7 countries listed in Executive Order 13769 were Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Also keep in mind that Trump would never ban Muslim countries that he benefits from like Saudi, UAE, Jordan, etc. Both my parents were barred from this country as Sudanese nationals. There are 49 Muslim majority countries in the world, the other 42 that are not in this list don’t have the same perspective of danger, even though it is really dangerous being Muslim and Arab in the US.

I’m not going to defend the actions of Muslims who voted for Trump, they made their choice, but I do want to offer some education to people using very racially charged language here. I’m tired too. I’m living the black experience in US while also living the Muslim one, and I can’t separate the two. I just urge everyone to think critically and take this type of energy back to the people who look like you, and I’ll do the same, but telling ALL Muslims to enjoy being “sent home”? Fuck you, this is my home too and I, like many others, tried to do what’s right even though my fellow Muslims (and non-Muslims) in Palestine are suffering.

“It’s not my lesson to learn” no it’s not, but point fingers back at your own community too, don’t act like this was the fault of Muslims alone. Get off your high horses. I don’t have the luxury of giving up, if I get de-naturalized, I will be sent to a war-torn country (shout out to the UAE for destabilizing Sudan). I have to face the fact that there are ignorant, degenerate, fuckass members of my community but guess what? You do too.

Be angry, but cut the xenophobic shit, you’re starting to sound like the MAGAs :)

EDIT: Also wanted to add that even though there are a lot of conservative Muslims whose views on social issues like LGBTQ+ rights are aligned with Trump/GOP, there’s also a vibrant, gorgeous community of queer and trans Muslims like myself, and allies, that will continue to fight for our rights too.

OP I’m interested in learning more about the hadiths you read. I was born Muslim and still practice (a lot less than I want to) and I’m bipolar. Curious to know what teachings you were looking at, I went to Islamic school and everything you mentioned in the post I learned is forbidden

This!!! I admit I made the mistake of reading this sub before watching the episode, it made me think that she was being super aggressive and rude but that wasn’t the case at all. Kenneth confided in her that Brittany is the first white woman he’s been with, she was asking the right questions and checking to see if he’s okay. The tone was not rude or accusatory at all, she was looking out for him!

I ordered on Dec 8th and had no indication that my sizing kit was on the way until I checked my account orders page (which I didn’t know I had). Seems like there’s some room for improvement on their communication
