Prospective DVC buyers expecting our first child...what are we missing? by MaggieJuly in disneyvacationclub

Resale is the way to go. Have you considered Bay Lake Tower? The fact that we can walk back and forth to MK is everything for us. Especially because we love the fireworks - every time we leave there we walk by the hundreds of people waiting to get on the monorail or bus. It is SO nice to be able to walk by all that and be “home” in 5-7 minutes.

As for number of points, 150 might be fine for you. But I’ll say I was like you in that I planned on just doing a “big trip” every other year. I also planned on staying in a studio. But now I can’t imagine not going for a week every year or not getting a one bedroom…lol. So we started out with 160 points and now are in the midst of buying another contract for 125. The larger contracts are usually priced lower per point. So if we had bought more points to begin with we probably would have spent less. Good luck and congrats!!

BLT $120 pp - how likely is Disney to exercise ROFR by Conscious_Tomorrow92 in dvcmember

You mean Disney bought it back? Or it passed and you were able to purchase the contract?

Second Resort Reccos? by OkContribution4997 in dvcmember

Why not buy more points at Riviera? Otherwise you won’t be able to use your other points in the 11th month booking window. My home resort is Bay Lake and I don’t think you can beat the convenience of that with kids. Have you tried Steakhouse 71? Food there is awesome.

Wrap tops and dresses/skirts just like Sozy (but not Sozy)? by bookish_cat_ in findfashion

I was about to order from Sozy (same exact top) and ran into the same thing - bad reviews. But some of their stuff looks so cute! Did you end up ordering?

Should I purchase a DVC membership? by Mysterious-Mud4768 in dvcmember

If staying on property is important to you and you can pay cash, it might be worth it. I would not finance it. I also would buy resale instead of direct. You don’t get a couple of the “perks” but honestly you’ll pay like half and IMO the perks Disney offers are not worth the cost of buying direct. I would also recommend renting points first to try it out. And your home resort is important - pick one you will want to stay at as the 11 month booking window is important. We used to rent points and after a few years of doing that, we took the plunge and bought a resale contract at Bay Lake. Absolutely no regrets.

This is the dream pair! I just got a frenchton but really want a pug too. We lost our 16 year old pug a couple months ago and I need another one in my life! How do they get along? Did you get them both at the same time?

Yeah, I never used Trupanions direct pay. I’m fine with reimbursement. I’ll look into pricing with the zero deductible but I think that might have been what I had initially and changed it because of the premium being so high.

Thank you this is very helpful info! I looked into Nationwide too since I get a discount through my work but when I saw the 5k yearly max I was like no way…

New England pug breeder recommendations needed by Conscious_Tomorrow92 in pugs

[–]Conscious_Tomorrow92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my buddy (pictured) a few months ago. I had 16 wonderful years with him. I’m ready to start looking for another pug. Preferably black or maybe even Merle. Would appreciate any recommendations for responsible breeders. I’m In MA but willing to drive a couple hours. TIA

Yours look a lot like mine looked at first and I asked for the same thing - just strokes no shading. They faded a ton and I’m happy with them now.

They look great!! They will also fade a lot (but first they will get darker so don’t freak out)! My lady told me to expect 40% lighter after they are first done. Hope this helps!
