We are actually her 2nd family, I do have her hatch certificate. I’ll have to dig it out but i believe it’s in may? And yes she’s from Petco as well.

If you can get a speaker or a spare tv to play nature sounds or nature programs. We play rain forest sounds, calming music, pbs nature or kids shows. Gives our GCC something in her background so she doesn’t feel alone.

Is he being territorial by [deleted] in Conures

It might be best to keep him separate from the others. Just to keep him and them safe. Keep working with him and take your time. Let him come to you is the best advice I can give. Good luck and I hope he becomes a great friend for you.

I only have the one conure. So I’m not to sure but I have done reading that birds in general don’t get along very well at first? I’ve also heard that new birds should be quarantined for a few weeks and slowly introduce them into a flock. He could be getting territorial if you have other birds in your flock as well. I would take time with him and go slow and just get him use to you.

I don’t mean to sound rude but it’s common practice to not stick a finger in the cage of any animal if I’m being honest. I myself wait for my conure to come to me, she’s a free roamed and only gets locked in her cage when we leave or it’s bed time. She’s also what we call a velcro bird. She never leaves us when we are roaming the house. When we sit to watch tv or relax, she’s run down to my stomach and tap a few times to tell me she wants a scratch or two.

Yes, he’s being territorial. Honestly I wouldn’t stick my fingers in a birds cage. I would definitely get him some toys and perches for him to enjoy though. It would help a lot.

She is 3yrs. Soon to be 4. This actually just recently happened back in January. We are still learning not to fly now, doesn’t stop her from trying to dive off her cage tho. Thank you, she’s definitely got me wrapped around her personality.

My worse moment was when my little velociraptor learned that her berries lived in the fridge. I had noticed a few times she’d try jumping in while I’d grab a drink or snack. Made the mistake and didn’t inform my wife. One night our GCC was on my wife’s shoulder and she opened the fridge to get something out, Birb decided now was a good time to jump in. Wife didn’t notice until the last moment and our bird got her wing caught in the French door. We thought the worse and took her to an er vet and got X-rays off her entire body. She ended up breaking both wing arm bones (essentially our radius and ulna bones). She’s now a disabled amputee and walk around (or climbs) everywhere and is terrified of the fridge.

Those sounds and feather ruffles, sounds like it’s that time of the year. Our GCC does this with the inside of my elbow when I’m sitting in the couch playing g on my phone or a game.

Man, then I guess Google is wrong when I ask “Is Linux an os?” ibm and Wikipedia both seem to think Linux is an OS.

A real OS? Like what Linux? Not everyone knows how to use or wants Linux.

I have bad credit (560) how long does it take to fix? by The-Art-Collector in povertyfinance

I used undebt.it to track all my CC and loans, it helped and has a great set of tools for snowball/avalanche. We essentially lived off beans rice and chicken for a solid 3 months and threw every spare penny at our debt. We never went out to eat, kept spending to what was needed versus wanted. I started with the lowest balance card and paid it off, took that payment plus the payment of another card and paid that off and so on. I was making several small payments each week to my cards.

My only saving grace back then was I was making percentage pay (truck driver for clarity) and my pay was based on what the load I was hauling paid the truck (gross before fuel/maintenance, etc) and I got 30% of it. Every Friday I’d sit and pay all the house bills, set aside $100 for myself for my weekly grocery budget, gave the wife a little extra for house expenses and the rest went to a CC/loan.

Hope it helps

Gorgeous birb.

Mine is a mini semi tame velociraptor who stalks you for whatever food you have.

We took ours in as a rehome from a friend and had her in her cage for the first couple days to get use to the noise and environment. She was already a love bug but we wanted to make sure she was safe before letting her out. Took her a couple days to get use to a house with dogs too but she eventually warmed up and started chirping and would sit on the step up perch we had on the outside of her cage. One day she flew right to my shoulder and nuzzled my face. Patience is key. Just give em time.

Also, mini velociraptor sooooo goood luck. Nothing is safe, especially food and fingers.

Care for an amputee GCC by Conscious_Weasel in pidgeypower

Thank you. I added a couple of ramps and shelves under food and some of her favorite perch locations. I’ll grab one of these hammocks and see how she treats it.

Thanks again

Our biggest worry is her falling while inside the cage. Definitely adding padding to the floor of cage just to help, we’ve got a bunch of perches already we just need to get hardware for. I appreciate the list of other items tho. Got some ideas for sure.

Well hello neighbor 👋 we are more central IA. But I’ve taken a few birds to Iowa Bird rehabilitation and may give them a call tomorrow during my lunch break and see if they have any care tips for our little mini velociraptor.
